Need to tone up and loose weight!

posted 7th Aug '12
So I'm 5'6 and right now I weigh 226  I'm 19 years old and I realized that I need to seriously fix myself all around. I'm changing my eating habits, cutting out soda, and I'm going to start exercising and walking daily. I was just wanting some advice on ways to loose this baby weight. Im 8 weeks PP and my beautiful baby girl ruined my body lol. I gained 50lbs the whole pregnancy and it's not going anywhere:/ I dont know of specific exercises I can do to work off the baby weight on my stomach and thighs and tone it all back up. How did some of you mommas loose your baby weight? I'm going shopping soon so I was also wondering what are some healthy meals for me to make for dinner? Thanks! (:

This is probably a dumb question but what is that and how long have you been doing it? If you don't mind me asking  good job btw loosing weight is hard.

I went from 215 post breastfeeding ( didn't wean) to 129-130. I was a size 16. I am now a size 1-2. Pre baby I was a size 7- 8 all hips and booty.

For me it was a really simple thing. I was a pescatarian. I cut out anything white, ( white rice, pasta, bread etc, because it breaks down to sugar and loves the mid section.

My best friend was coffee, it curbed my appetite like no other.

I did work out but could never stick to it because of my schedule, so most of my weight loss was from dieting. After I lost about 50 - 60 pounds then I started my routine, a real simple one and then started back my old track and field routine.(Once i was comfortable)

Besides counting calories, what kind of exercises have you been doing to loose the weight and how long have you done it? sorry to ask so many questions I'm just absolutely clueless about dieting and exercising lol.

I wear 14s now but I used to wear 5s. Out of no where I gained a massive amount of weight, the doctors couldn't even figure out how it came on so fast or why. Then I got pregnant gained 50lbs on top of the 200 I already was so now I'm 226. I have recently cut out all the "bad" foods too, and I'm counting calories of what I do eat now. I'm going to walk today and exercise so I think in time I will ekissing posing weight. Maybe dieting like you did will help me loose weight then exercise on top of that

Oh believe me I've asked lots of qustions. Get used to it,because it helps you! I do a mixture, which everyone should because your body gets used to the same old thing ;) First when I started, I was 192. I'm 5'3" so it wasn't pretty. Nor was it easy. I busted my butt on the elliptical for at least 200 or more calories at a time. I bought a heartrate monitor. I love that thing. I ate around 1500 calories a day but if I worked out, I got to eat a little more. Now I only get to eat 1360 on a rest day lol but if I workout, like I did today (I burned 514 calories doing zumba (which is freaking FUN) ) then I get to eat more   I like to eat so that makes me happy. So elliptical is great when you're starting out. But now that I've lost so much, it doesn't help me so much anymore. I have to make sure I'm getting lots of cardio and strength. I do circuit training videos (jillian michaels, bob harper, etc.) Or their taebo by billy blanks and those rock too
Don't know if I mentioned it before but I am down to 143 now. Still losing. Still counting and exercising though I have had trouble. I still have bad days. I'm not a fitness guru believe me!!!! I still have days where I just eat too darn much, plain and simple. But when I focus and do what I'm supposed to, the weight comes right off. DRINK WATER! That's so important. I drink AT LEAST a gallon a day.   Hope that helps. Anything else, don't be afraid to ask

oh and I have to add... you can still have rice and bread and pasta. I do   I have rice noodles (gluten free, and freaking yummier than wheat anyway!!!) I have gluten free bread (its made from tapioca starch and its awesome   ) Rice, I'm just not a huge fan of anyway but brown rice is VERY good for you!! Don't limit yourself on variety of healthy foods too much. Do know though that breads and pasta and stuff like that can make you bloat. They do it to me so I have to make sure I'm not only eating that. Eat lots of veggies and lots of fruits but veggies are more important than fruits. I like to cook up a bag of frozen veggies and just eat the whole bowl, with some meat. Good lunch and low in calories. Besides, foods high in fiber will keep you fuller longer

I love My Fitness Pal! The biggest thing for me was to find a work out I really enjoy doing. I cant start exercising agian till next week as I'm only out 5 weeks from my c-section but starting next week I will be doing Cardio Salsa 3 days a week, and different types of crunches 3 days a week (I'm hoping to get the bender ball). My body plateus on work outs after 2 weeks though so while I intend to keep working out 3 days cardio 3 days strength 1 day rest. I will do 2 weeks with an exercise, jog/run for a week, then start back the 3/3/1 with a different set of exercises.
