breastfeeding and menstration(typo)

I know if u exclusively breastfeed it can be a form of birth control (even though u shouldn't count on it and use a back up method)
but if u exclusively bf, do u still get your period?
when does your period return?

LOL Breast feeding is by NO MEANS a birth control! Just as my several friends who all thought so and now have kids closer than planned! If you exclusively breast feed you will most likely not have your period until your baby starts eatng more solids and less nursing... I got mine about a month after the nursing slowed each time.

My 1st PP period was almost 12 months to the day i gave birth...( I loved 12 months free) LOL And my friend got pregnant while breast feeding so use a back up.

it just depends on the person.

I exclusively breastfed & was also my son's human pacifier. LOL! He is still a booby addict at 2 years old. My period returned after almost 16 months. I never supplemented, used bottles, or a pacifier. I rarely pumped either.

I got mine back at 9 mos pp...which is exactly when my son became disgusted (according to the look on his face) with nursing. Six weeks later I was pregnant

Birth control Ha ha ha !
That is completely untrue .
Your period can return at anytime after birth breastfeeding or not .
I got mine at varied times after my kids and I breastfed for 8-24 months for each child .
13 months till it returned with #1
4 months with #2
3-4 months with #3
8 months with #4
2 months with #5 ... and she was the one I exclusively breastfed - never ever gave her a single bottle ever.

Well, I am actually getting the IUD on Monday...so I won't even worry about testing out the bf bc theory....but I really don't want to see AF for several more months if possible.

Yeah, unfortunately for me I got my period back early with both of my children. With my son my period returned after 6 weeks, and with my daughter it came back maybe almost 4 weeks later? I was breastfeeding exclusively with both. Go figure.
I should also mention that I was using birth control when I got pregnant with my daughter (which was only 3 months after I gave birth to my son). We tried for a couple of years to conceive our son, and then suddenly I became so damn fertile!
