Exactly! Safety first!

Yes. He will be till he is too big for his seat. He isn't yet so he will stay in a 5pt as long as possible. It's safest.

I don't have kindergartners yet, not even close, but they will definitely be going to school harnessed. My 28 month old is still rear facing

my son's carseat is the one that went up to 65 lbs w/ the harness. but he's so tall he hit the height (shoulder straps) restrictions long before the weight. so he is now using the regular seatbelt.
on a good note though this seat is up to 100 lbs & the height at which he can come out of a booster. so SHOULD be the last seat we have to buy. the only prob is possibly the difficulty of him buckling himself next year for school. b/c it's a carseat/booster the buckles of the car end up being "under" the seat, it has a lip. but we'll deal when we come to that crossroad.

My daughter's in Pre-K (four years old) and yes she is and will be until she grows out of it. Which I don't think will be anytime soon, even with how tall she is. She's never been picked on by it at all from other kids. Even if she was her safety is much more important to me.

Yep, he will be for a long ass time.
He's almost 50 lbs, his seat goes up to 65.
Id rather him be safe. And if the other parents care about their kids' safety, then the kids will be in 5 pt harnesses as well, so they have nothing to make fun of.
