Adult ADHD

For those of you that have it..

how did you first suspect you had it?
what kinds of things did you say to your doctor?
what kind of treatment are you doing?



Ive taken those online tests about adult adhd and they all basically tell me to seek professional help immediately lol. My son also has ADHD as well and we have a lot of the same symptoms.

Im currently in school and find it difficult to concentrate

what are your symptoms? just hard to concentrate in school? thats normal a lot of people find it hard to concentrate especially in school

My BD went to the doc and wanted adderall so he faked the symptoms of ADHD. He definitely does not have it  

I was diagnosed with ADHD as a kid, I just never grew out of it. I absolutely suck at getting anything done because I can't focus, especially when it comes to things I find boring like cleaning. I have to force myself to do it. I fidget constantly and some days I completely bounce off the walls. I talk a million miles a minute and lose my train of thought constantly. Those jokes about being in the middle of serious conversation just to look off and yell, "Look! A puppy!" I actually do that... a lot. Once upon a time I was on Adderall but I hated the way it made me feel so now I don't take anything. At this point, I just live with it.

One sign is if you can drink a caffeinated drink and fall asleep. My husband and sons can all do it. They all have different degrees. My teen drinks a coffee before school and it helps him focus . No drugs other than that

I have heard this!! Caffine does not affect me but idk that may be due to me being use to consuming it.

Try drinking a coke or something a half hour or so before class. See if it helps.

concentration
speaking to someone before they are done talking
impulse control (although ive gotten better at this)
zoning out or daydreaming
not being able to complete simple tasks....i have discussion boards at school that are super easy but I have to FORCE myself to do them...

Hubbub drinks monsters before work to focus

Well there are diff types, ADD and ADHD. I have ADD and I can't pay attention for smurf, I always get side tracked because I have a million and one thoughts going through my head at once. I have a hard time staying on track and for me to try and focus on something longer than 5 minutes is almost impossible. Now ADHD is the same but you are just super hyper on top of the inability to concentrate.

Yea, kinda. The medicine prescribed for ADD/ADHD is like speed in a pill pretty much. I have taken pretty much every med out on the market because I have to switch every so often. I haven't taken any medicine in over a year because I got pregnant and now I bf so it is no good while bfing.
