Birth Control.

posted 6th Aug '12
I think I've finally decided to talk to my doctor about starting BC. I've never taken it before, and I'm still very unsure about which ones are good to take. I'm not looking for any sort of implantation, just the pill. Any suggestions would be great!

TIA!

I have the implanon, Its not for everyone, Do some googling on popular BC.. read the reviews from actual women and the actual side affects.. find the lesser of two evils and try it out.

As far as pills, I did Ortho 777 forever - my only side effect was weight gain.

I tried Depo shots and bled every day for months. I finally stopped that and tried Mirena IUD.

I got pregnant on Mirena and recently just had the baby. It was pushed into my uterus and stuck there the whole pregnancy. I delivered it, it was inside the placenta.

I am now going to get essure, but that is permanent like getting your tubes tied.

I've heard good and bad for all of these methods. It just turns out I got the bad side of them. You just have to try and see what happens for you. Everyone is different.

I have done the pill first.. if you can remember to take it everyday then thats the easiest...(i couldnt remember) I also had the implanon cause I knew for sure I didnt want more kids and had that for 3 years but after I had it removed and was ready to have a baby it took 5 months before I could get prego.. now I just go and get the depo shot and that so far has been the easiest and unpainful way for me

The whole thing takes about 20 mins, You have to take an atibiotic the night before and for 5 days after. They gave me a valium to relax me an hour b4 and then toradol 30 mins b4 the procedure. They lay you on a table, like youd be on if you were having a pap smear, they inject the cervix with a numbing medicine then they use a camera to locate the tubes and squirt water into the uterus so they can see everything better. Then they attach the first spring and put it in the tube. You can feel it but its like cramping once it is in they will do the other tube.

I was called to get my pre op procedures yesterday, I have to take a prescription for 2 weeks before to thin the cervix. Did you do this? You'll have to let me know how everything goes on 9/26.
