Maybe Pregnant?

posted 15th May
My husband and I decided we wanted to have another baby. So therefore we started trying. I am almost two weeks late, which to most people would mean it's time for a pregnancy test.
Which I took one and it came back negitive. Good luck try again later, right? The only problem with that is, when I was pregnant with my daughter I took one as soon as I was late and it was also negitive, I took one three weeks later and it was positive. So I can't help but get my hopes up.
I have a doctor appoitment next week, but I'm worried that that test will also come back negitive when I might be pregnant. Any suggestions, advice? Similar stories?

Your HCG level just may rise slowly...which could be normal for you...
home pregnancy test need a HCG of anywhere from 25-100 depending on the test....
but by a blood test anything over 5 is a positive test....
since you have had that happen before...I wouldnt trust a home pregnancy test...

And see, that's why I'm thinking, is maybe it is the same thing again, and that I'm just wasting my money on pregnancy tests. So now all I get to do is wait for the fateful day at the doctors, lol. Yey.

Yep...I would save my money and wait...
HCG levels double every day-two days...so maby in a few days you can try it again...do some research and see which test requires the lowest HCG...I cant remember but I think its the ones that say...test 5 days early...that would be your best bet.
good luck to you!!!

At this point I think I will just wait until Tuesday to find out, as that's when my doctor appointment is.
Thanks for the advice, and congrats on your twins, when are you due?

In most docs they have a cut off of 25 and under for negative, incase of chemical pregnancy & other issues, but if you get a quantatitive then they will tell you your exact numbers. All sounds hopeful though! By your app they should be up pretty high anyway, im sure you will get your BFP   Good luck, ibet the wait is drving you insane!!

but the babies are constanly measuring a week early...so I could have gobble gobble thanksgiving twins...LOL

Chemical pregnancy~
Early testing shows chemical pregnancies which would not have been detected had the woman waited for her period to arrive.

Oh you have no idea! And I'm a stay at home Mom, so this wait is even worse than the last one! When I was pregnant with my daughter I was currently in a play, so I at least had something to keep my mind off it. And Miss Sydney is off at her grandparent's house right now. I suppose I could read until Tuesday, don't suppose my husband would appriciate that though, nothing would get clean, lol.

Oh i know how bad it is, we are ttc and it is soo hard every month! Wish it was back in the days where you just 'noticed' you were like a week late and then got a positive hpt! 2 of our losses were just before 6 weeks so it kinda sucks knowing early on. But then when TTC i test like a hundred times before af is even due because im so desperate to know lol Whats a girl to do eh?!!

wow your expecting to go to full 40 weeks   I was told 37 would be the latest we would be allowed to go, but to expect to deliver sooner - 50% deliver before 36 weeks. Didnt realise it would be quite so early though! How you finding the pregnancy? are you showing real soon etc?

My friend had twins in December, she was due the 27th and had them the 20th. Which was amazing as she took horrible care of herself. She was in the hospital for malnutrition twice. She was basically anorexic while pregnant. Sick.

Yep...im totally expecting to go to 38-40 weeks. I have done my reasearch on this subject...and many twin moms are told...no you cant go that long.....well why not!!!! As long as the babies are still healthy..they can stay in until natural labor begings...As well as....no you cant have them vaginally...well why not???
So far...pregnancy this pregnancy is wonderful!!! I have some bleeding...but was told its totally ok...being checked constantly...and every u/s those little things are just jumping all around....they are very healthy and measuring futher along then my LMP.
I have some friends on youtube that show there belly all the time (as do I..LOL)
and I swear im as big as they are...and they are 18weeks...LOL...Im showing pretty good...LOL

I was in your same shoes.
I took my test when I was a week late it was negative, a week after that, negative.

so two weeks later, I felt completely bloated and you could see that my stomach was kind of pooched out at my "preggo" region, sure enough a week ago, I took one. and it was positive.

good luck

My mom had twins (number 10 and 11 for her!) and went full term. One was 7 lb 4 1/2 oz and the other was 8 lbs 4 oz. She delivered naturally ... one was breech but since he was the second, she hardly noticed. I believe that's the one reason they say you may not be able to deliver vaginally... the whole "breech issue"
