The moms would have to be married, to a guy willing to adopt them, and they would have to have been married a year. Then he could sign over rights for adoption. But other than that... no way.

That is not true in every state. It certainly isn't the case here but they won't terminate unless the mothers are in agreement with it.

Oh, we both do. I was just wondering if there was any validity to what he's saying.

I know someone who just signed over their rights to two of their children and he only has to pay two years worth of back child support on one child. The only reason he even has to pay that is because the child support case was started before he signed over his rights.

oh, if you want him to pay he WILL pay! file for child support. if any of his children's moms are awarded child support and he doesn't pay, they put him in jail - and that's in EVERY state!

Me too. I wish he was just smurfing gone!!!! 8 years no contact and the state won't terminate his rights or let him sign over rights!

Smurfing ridiculous. My sons sperm donor is filing to change his last name after 4 years of not seeing him ONCE. And not paying a smurfing PENNY. Literally, not a penny.

And my attorney said it's realistic he will be able to get his name hypenated.

it's possible and do-able....I live in Texas and i got my ex to sign off BEFORE my daughter was born. there was NO WAY IN HELL i was going to let him not be around during the pregnancy and then decide 'oh she's cute i want to be around after all' . he thought i was bluffing that i wouldn't have him sign off bc we were on and off for 10 yrs but at 8 months pregnant i showed up with my lawyer and my BFF (who looks like wrestler mark henry!) and he FREAKED OUT! he signed off and he has been gone ever since   my daughter and i are doing just great without him!
i'm so grateful that the judge didn't even try to force him into the picture or argue with me!

Im sorry   I fought like hell to change Lily's name... she was having issues with it even though she didnt know anything about her father. The first judge is a major smurf that said I didnt try hard enough to contact my ex even though I followed protocol. The second judge... bless her freaking heart was AMAZING... I almost left in tears and then she pulled us aside and said let her know when we were ready for custody. I loved her!
