cardiomyopathy

cardiomyopathy. I recently came to the ER and was diagnosed with this. Apparantly it only effects 1 out of every 2000 pregnancies. Ive been here 3 days already, my babys only 9 days old & i feel like im neglecting him. I just want 2 go home & be with my family

good news is that postpartum cardiomyopathy is curable and vast majority of patient's heart functions will return to normal within 6 months. did they give you any kind of meds? beta blockers or diuretics like lasix?

Hi. I just got released although i still have to stay on oxygen. Im taking diuretics beta blockers, another heart pill, blood pressure and potassium. I am so happy to be back home. Hopefully it clears up because im only 30 and thats way to young to have heart problems

i'm sorry about that   my 10 month old had open heart surgery when he was a day old for a congenital heart defect, and he is doing extremely well now. if your heart was healthy before the pp cardiomyopathy and you are overall a healthy person, you should do excellent!

havent been here for awhile. Did my heart stress test on monday & everything looks good so far. I go back in november & am still on my meds but feel so much better
