I feel so terrified during this pregnancy

posted 5th Aug '12
My name is Cindi Jodon I just recentely got married and i'm 17 I wasn't expecting for this to happen like most young teens but it just happened. I was with this guy (who is now my husband) for 8 months we got engaged but we planned on waiting til I was 18 but since I found out I was pregnate we had the wedding early. I am currently 9 weeks pregnate and I've been terrified this entire time since my family is either criticizing me or bringing on stress I wanted to know what I should do when handeling all this stress since it isn't good for the baby this whole time I also been worried about going back to school even though my friends support me I'm afraid it will affect my schooling by being focused on the baby more and my new life being pregnate and married. Everyday for me is a new challenge for me I wanted some advice from people who have been through the things I been through since most of my friends and the people around me don't understand what it's like being a stressed out , overworked pregnate teen please help thank you.

hey at least he actually married you instead of run off like on 16 and pregnant. dont worry about what other people say because a lot of people in the older generation were married very young. especially in the WWII days.

Just let people know how you are feeling and that you hope they support you and your decision, and if they don't to please keep that to themselves since you don't need the extra stress right now. Good luck with school, please stick with it and get your diploma!

Age doesn't matter. Even if you're 30 and you have friends without kids they still don't understand. It is harder cause you're in school but it will work out. Hs is different but I go to college and have been for 3.5 yrs now with a LO. You can do it. I'm saying it's easy but just yay positive and make sure you have a lot of support   Congrats

Just remember to breathe and not sweat the small stuff.

Being married, and pregnant, separately have their own hardships. Being married and pregnant at the same time AND at a young age is even tougher. If you start getting stressed out by anything, just go for a walk or turn on some music that calms you down. As far as the pregnancy goes, we all have MOUNTAINS of advise on a wide variety of topics, so if you ever are in need of an answer and/or opinion and are too scared to ask someone you know IRL, ask us   Unless its drastically medical, then of course seek advice from your Dr/OB. Same goes for marriage here, the vast majority of us are or have been married and we know all about the insanity it can bring.

Take things one day at a time, you will survive this better than you were going into it   Best of luck!

ETA: school is CRAZY important, stick with it!!! It's worth it all in the end, we promise. Also, I was married 4 months and 6 days after meeting my (now ex) husband, and had found out I was pregnant 3 weeks prior to that--Im well aware of how scary that can be! I was 22 but still scared out of my mind. Im here if you need to talk about anything

Talk to the school about your classes and up coming appointments. Most will work with you when it comes to being out sick and your school work. The one near me even has a daycare and offers parenting classes so that's definitely something to ask your school about if you don't know.
