Toddler or twin bed

My LO is 3 40 inches tall and 40 pounds. We have been co-sleeping since my brother moved back in.

We are rearranging my room today to get his toddler bed set back up...

I kinda want to buy him a new bed cause he has an Elmo bed and he is kinda scared of it since someone introduced him to the boogie man which is strange cause he loves Elmo.

Should I just advance to a Twin size bed? or keep him in a toddler bed? I know the weight limits on toddler beds is like 50-60lbs

my DS is in a twin bed and he wont be 3 until october. so i vote twin

If he has enough space, twin bed.
Toddler bed was the stupidest thing I bought for DD.
I was like "Oh it's cute, and when she grows out of it I'll just get another bed"..  
She flips and twists and kick when she sleeps, she flipped into the rails numerous times and hit her face and fell out 459348894 times and was sleeping on the floor when I'd go get her, the bed was too small. As soon as I stuck her in a twin she has never ONCE fallen out and she sleeps wayyyy better.

I may just have to make room and get him a twin bed for Christmas.. Keep him in the toddler bed till then what do you mamas think??

I really don't think the toddler bed will be good for him at all. My LO was only 28lbs and the toddler bed was too small for her. It's a waste of money. There are way cuter comforters available for twin beds anyway!

I can make some room maybe today and see what I can do about getting him a Twin size tomorrow or something..
