Taking LOs camping

Hello all! I'm trying to compile a list of everything to take for our camping trip. We are taking our two and three year old girls with us. As well as a few friends. Anyway, what are some must haves you've came across? We'll be tent camping so I know we'll need the tent/lanterns/sleeping bags or sheets. I bought bug spray and sunscreen but wasn't sure if the girls were old enough to use bug spray? We'll also be swimming in the river so I bought them those puddle jumper flotation device things. Anyway, any advice or things you can think of that we should take?

My boys favs are always stuff to dig around in the dirt with, and glow sticks. One for each night there.

I just got back from a camping trip. If your girls are potty-trained, bring a little toilet for them lol. My 2 year old WOULD NOT pee outside or use the outhouse.

Otherwise, the must-haves were:

bug-spray, sunscreen, extra sweaters, flashlight for the LO, lots of easy snacks.

LOL, yes I would recommend it! We had a campground where the outhouse was down the hill for us to use, but my LO was sooooo afraid of it! Kept saying she was afraid to fall in.


Oh and some easy recipes over the fire - just take a bunch of veggies that you like (we used zuchinni, sweet red pepper, onion and celery) and some meat if you like meat (we used little strips of steak.) Wrap them in foil, toss them over the fire on the little grates and then you will have a really yummy dinner. Only takes about 15 minutes for them to cook and it's delicious.

My boys like dump trucks bc they haul little rocks, twigs etc from one area to the other. I bet your girls would enjoy it as well. You can get cheap dump trucks in the beach section at Walmart.
