I'm losing my mind

I have an appointment tomorrow to talk to my doctor about the itching I've been experiencing lately and I am going to bring up my concerns that I may have cholestasis. I am so stressed out and scared that I have this and I am worried that my doctor will be unfamiliar with it and either ignore my concerns/or not know how to treat it if I do have it. I've been crying since Friday worrying about my baby, I can barely eat, can't sleep, I can't even get dressed because I'm so anxious about this and feel like I have no one to talk to. My SO called the hospital and asked if there was anyone knowledgeable on choelstasis that he could talk to and the nurse said, "We can't do anything for you in the OB department since it is the weekend. If you are ill, go to the ER" .... bitch. The nurse at my OB office told me I probably have PUPPS, which I don't because I do not have a rash. Cholestasis is dangerous to the health of my baby.. she could be stillborn because of it and there are lots of other issues including preterm labor, meconium issues, etc. This is my first pregnancy.. and after reading all that I am so scared and sick to my stomach that I may have this. What's worse is that I have to be worried that my dr isn't aware of this issue and won't be able to help me. I am praying that I don't have it and am just being neurotic. I would rather look crazy begging my doctors to test me than ignoring the issue and losing my baby. Any advice from anyone who has experienced choelstasis or worried that they had this would be much appreciated. I feel so alone in this.

Yes, it's especially bad at night in my palms and feet. From what I have read itching can be the only symptom. I don't have a rash and the itching gets really intense.

I would not worry about it right now just talk to ur dr and have them test u

I'm trying really hard to not stress about it. It's easier said than done though.

I had the same thing with my first pregnancy, itching, itching, itching like crazy in my hands, wrists, feet, and ankles. I became very swollen and it was just the skin strtching in the swollen areas that was causing the itching. Although itching can be the only symptom, if it were a bad case of Cholestasis, you would have light colored stool and or dark urine. Possible Jaundice too. If you have never had liver problems before, I would make an appointment and demand testing but try not to freak too much because that too is harmful to your unborn child. I have had some swelling in my hands but it comes and goes. I really am trying to stay calm because I know it isn't good for the baby. I have an appointment tomorrow and I'm hoping the doctor has heard of this and will listen to me. I hope I am just over thinking and it is not cholestasis.

My cousin had cholestasis . It isn't just itching. Her poo was like white, her urine was so dark and smelled terrible, she had pain in the liver area under her right rib cage and a few other things. Itching was the least of her worries and was not the first symptom she had.

dont stress to much hun thats probably gonna do more harm than the cholestasis ...my best friend also my brothers girlfriend had it through out her whole pregnancy and they kept telling her her baby wasnt gonna make it and all this other horrible crap ! and we got a second opinion and that dr told us that in her 26 years of working she never had a baby die from that.... she did go in to preterm labor at 35 weeks but my niece is beyond healthy ! shes the happiest baby girl ive ever seen!  

Well my doctor didn't seemed concerned at all, he gave me hydrocortisone cream, I just started using it today so we will see if it helps. The itching hasn't been too bad but last night it got intense again. I'm going to use the cream and monitor my itching, if it gets worse or if I have any other symptoms I will make an appointment with a different doctor to test specifically for cholestasis. I have been trying very hard to stay positive and not stress and I've been doing ok. Thanks for the replies, I will update if I find anything else out!
