I felt violated

I had an apt. with my Dr. today, I knew I was going to get checked today and have the strep b culture but I figured my Dr. would be doing it not a student(I'm guessing since I was never introduced to him or anything!) My Dr. came in looked at my folder asked a few questions while the other guy got ready to check me.. not once was I asked or even told who he was and that he would be checking me. Well ok I figured it out myself.. and the culture was fine barely felt it but in between that and him checking my cervix I felt his fingers inside me.. like wiggle, the Dr. and nurse weren't down there beside him at that point. Well then he checked my cervix but I was never told anything. If I was dilated any moreor not and my Dr. never asked the guy either.. grrr I wish I would have asked but I was just kinda blown away by the whole situation and something about that wiggle didn't seem right.. It left me feeling very awkward..

I would have been an ass and said "Okay! Your turn!".

That's kind of rude, IMO.

That's weird as hell. I was always, always asked if it was OK for a student to check me before they did it...

you shouldn't have kept quiet, it's your right to ask any question you want...don't be shy...ask away....I'm always asking questions, but also grew up in a hospital and learned to ask questions, that's the only way to get answers, and if you're uncomfortable with something let them know..that's the only way they do know

I would call and complain and demand that your doctor apologize for not informing you when the hell was going on! Thats crap...if anyone other then the doctor thinks they are getting into my junk they have another thing coming! I better know your name and rank before i let you touch me!

I know, I 'm upset at myself for not saying anything ugh I should have spoke up.. I have always been shy and end up looking back at situations thinking why didn't I say something.

i was like that in school, but not when it came to doctors, especially when it came to my labor and delivery and my son. I just have a hard time coming up with questions to ask, but I'm a very nosy person, not in a bad way, but I like to be in control(i have control issues)..that's why I'm always asking...

I'd call your dr tomorrow and just see if you can speak to him her and explain your feelings and concerns. I am sure that might make you feel better. I can't imagine feeling like someone was feeling me up while getting checked. I just want to drop kick his ass!!: 

They should have asked if that was ok with you before letting him do that, as for the wiggle of the fingers...he could have just been trying to get to your cervix better, but heck who knows...Sorry you had to go through that.

I would've been livid, been like "excuuuse me..." "and you are?"
because that was pretty careless on the part of your Dr. not tell you what was going on...I think I might have kicked him....Sorry that happened, you should speak with your Dr. at the next appointment, or give her a call if you feel strongly about not waiting and tell her that this made you really uncomfortable.
