Update

posted 5th Aug '12
so I started having time-able contractions last night around 10 pm. Ones that I could no longer sit thru but didn't feel so bad if I walked them out. So for two hours straight they were about 50 seconds every 2-3 minutes. I really wanted to call and go in but something held me back... just because they weren't really painful if I was walking around and they didn't seem to be getting anymore intense. So by 12:30 am my eyes start to really burn and I can feel my body getting so tired so I laid down on the couch and totally passed out. I only woke up twice to contractions and was able to get back to sleep pretty quickly.
Woke up at 5am... felt like I needed to get up. Had a fairly big bloody show, fresh blood, not old blood from my sweep... took a shower and started feeling the contractions again. Intensity is lower again, I can sit here through them... I'm just really at a loss why this is taking so goddam long! I thought the the third one would just fall out, ya know! So I'm going to start early today and get to walking and squatting and see if I can push the babes out by the end of the day. Wish me luck!

nada. I have a feeling I will have to have my water broken in the near future...
My next appointment is tomorrow at 11:30 so we will see what she says. I was contracting quite a bit on Saturday night but still nothing that stuck thru the night. I was an emotional wreck on Sunday morning, crying at everything... but after that I decided not to stress and take it day by day and stop trying so hard or getting worked up over the smallest cramps. Just trying to take it easy

OH MY GOSSSSSSSSH!! The anticipation is killer!!

I can't wait until I have an update on my homepage from you like, "MY BABE IS HERE!!"

Hopefully soon. Kick back and relax in the mean time. I'd be taking serious naps.

It would make me nervous to go as overdue as you are. I went 6 days over with my first son and it was scary. Does your midwife check on you regularly? Is baby still pretty active or slower now?

I was checked on Saturday as well as baby's heartbeat, things are good. According to my midwife I'm only about 6 days overdue as of today. I was with an OB beforehand and he had dated me at July 25, then 27th just according to baby's measurements on the u/s. My midwife went by my LMP which dated me at Aug 1. But she thought I would deliver early because it was my third and my first was early and my second was right on time so I just left my due date as the original. But now it's getting ridiculous!
I'm not really scared about anything, baby is still moving quite a bit at night and responds to my touch and prodding during the day. I'll have to meet with an OB this weekend though if nothing happens and she told me that they will try to scare me into an induction but that it's completely up to me. I'm just not sure what to do, she seems to think I should drink castor oil before getting my water broken. I've just heard so many bad things about that on this site! So I'm not sure yet what I'm going to do... what did you do?

My MIL and parents have been great, picking up the kids for a night or two here and there, letting my SO and I get some down time, naps, cleaning done. It's been nice, but I agree I'd rather have the babe here!

I was induced. They gave me pitocen and broke my water. He wasnt ready. He was 8lbs 6 oz but from the stress of the induction his hearrate dropped and they ended up doing an emergency c-section. I was in labor for 52 hours before the c section. It was horrible. I think as long as they are keeping a close eye on you and you feel comfortable then just relax. But trust your insticts. Its the strongest thing we have as humans. If your worried then do what you feel is best. Midwifes can wait too long sometimes because they truly believe in natural births. They cant even perform a c section since they arent doctors. So dont completely rule out a doctors opinion. :-) I will be thinking about ya in the days to come. I sent you a pt :-)

Thank you   I haven't even started looking at the risks going overdue yet this time. I did a few years ago and the only thing I remember is that they could have their first poop and get an infection. Is there a way to check if they've done that besides breaking the water? hmmm I know for sure I will be declining the pitocin if I get my water broken. I think being so dilated and my cervix is already super soft that it will work to my advantage. She did say I have lots of fluid, so I'm thinking that may be one of the reasons I haven't started spontaneously yet. When I do get contractions now though they are pretty strong, but very few and far between.
Well I think I will go look at the risks involved now, hopefully won't scare myself too much!

Im sorry, I dont mean to worry you. But you are right about the risk neing higher for LO to suck in meconium. I dont believe there is a way to check. But when it happens your on limited time to get them out. Im sure your fine, just trust your instincts. If your dialated and progressing then breaking your water maybe all the help you need. :-)
