Someone Explain This to Me

I just.. don't get this new art trend. I really don't.

I've never anything like it but it looks kinda cool to me.

I like it. I didn't know it was a new trend. Lol

I think it's pretty awesome.

I personally think it's dumb, art to me is supposed to have meaning and feeling.. this seems to be rather emotionless and trendy.

It's just drawing. Does the canvas matter?

in a way, yes. The canvas can give a lot of input on an idea or feeling.

Especially since these papers seem nowhere related to the subject matter. Like if the butterflies and flowers were on a page about Botanicals, I'd get that, that'd be really cool. But it's just on some random page.

Hmm, I kind of like the randomosity of the canvas. Different tastes, I guess.

no i didn't do it, i bought it from i think the same etsy shop the gold frame ones from the OP are on.

in person though, they aren't as 'fake print' looking. you can tell where the print was made, it's more vintage looking.

It just feels more like novelty kinda art- like no real meaning but just to kinda look steampunkish?

Art is in the eye of the beholder I guess lol.
