How do you pronounce this name?

I've seen the name Aria a lot lately, and I feel like an idiot for asking how it's pronounced lol. Oh well. Is it Air-ee-a or Are-ee-a?

lol Arr-ee-uh.

It can be pronounced both ways, I usually hear it said as Are-e-uh

Its Are-ee-uh from my experience. My friend just named her daughter that

Okay thanks.   I thought maybe since Ariana is pronounced with the Air sound so did Aria lol.

It's opera-based. An aria is a vocal piece of sorts.

I have no idea but I have been seeing that name around a lot as well...


And by looking at the responses looks like everyone pronounces it differently.

Are-ee-uh

I believe it's Are-ee-a.. but I can't remember ^^; I think it's gained popularity from Game of Thrones. My bf wanted to name our daughter that, I liked it, but didn't want to name our baby anything starting with "A" due to the popularity of "A" names lately lol

My daughter is Ariah   pronounced are ee uh , everyone butchers it though

Weird, I never thought of Aria as being a pronunciation nightmare... I thought most people would be familiar with the word. I can see how people might think your daughter's is like Mariah without the M, though.
