I would definitely think that was Uh-Ry-uh (like Mariah).

It if was supposed to be pronounced Are-ee-uh, I think it would at least need to lose the H at the end.. and even then, Aria would throw me off. lol. (Area, Are-ee-uh or Uh-ry-uh.. *shrugs*)

I've been wondering about the name Aria myself.. I'm So glad that most people are saying AR-ee-uh.. because Air-ee-uh.. is.. well, area... and I just can't imagine calling a kid area... like an area rug... or in this general area.. lol... and Uh-ry-uh isn't bad, but I think it would need the H at the end to make the pronunciation clear, Ariah.

I totally read it like Mariah. The H throws it off.

I agree. I was kind of thinking that the H is what clarifies the pronunciation to be like Mariah instead of one of the possible Aria pronunciations... so people Won't be confused.

Well dad and I couldnt agree on a spelling, so we settled with the h on the end and now we regret it. Can't do anything now, no need to be rude DUDE

Who was rude? I must have missed it.

You can change it if you want to.. I don't think it costs very much.. I could be wrong.. but you could at least call your courthouse and see what it would take, all you need is for both parents to consent and it costs some money (again, not sure how much, but sure its prolly less than $100).. and it might be worth it..

Or you could just start pronouncing it the way its spelled. That would be cheaper.. How old is she? Could you get away with that, you think? I kind of prefer Ariah anyway, myself.

I like it pronounced like Aria. You (and she) will just have to do a lot of correcting or just pay the money and get the h dropped. Maybe give her the choice when she's older? I would spend the money/effort just to get one letter I want added to my daughter's name if I didn't have to fly back to Hawaii to do it.
