Twins??

SO and I both have a few twins in our families. We both really want twins. I tried looking up symptoms of twins online but there's really not much to go on other than hearing 2 heartbeats or confirming by US. I've been so "fatigued" lately. I can sleep forever if you let me, I'm tired all day, even bending down sometimes I feel like I shouldn't already already. I don't recall feeling this way this early in my pregnancy with my son. I'm only 5 weeks today, what should I look out for twins?

Why would you want twins? Those all sound like normal pregnancy symptoms...

You have no control if you get them. Does hyper-ovulation run on your side of the family? and Identical twins are just coincidental.

An ultrasound that shows two fetal poles.

Twins are far more likely to end up in the NICU. I suppose there's no harm in wanting them though. It's trying for them that I don't get.

You'd just have to wait for an u/s most likely. Some people say they're sicker and show earlier. But really you can't gage it by that.

I don't think that's any sign of anything more than being pregnant. Twins in his family dont matter. Fraternal twins are the type that run in families.

Be careful of what you wish for

as far as i know i am only having one baby, but the symptoms you are describing sounds exactly like me with this pregnancy.
i have been completely energyless since around 5 weeks or so. cant hardly get anything done because all i want to do is sleep

I don't see anything wrong with wanting twins, but that just sounds like normal pregnancy hun

I can't wrap my head around women that WANT twins! I would die!

I've had all of those symptoms plus some & I'm only having one

Twins are a blessing and dont ever let anyone tell you other wise. They have the same likey hood as one baby does to end up in the nicu. Identical twins run in both my family and on DH side. I was more then tired with mine and started showing alot sooner. Sometime if you let your doctor know that twins run in you family they will give you an u/s sooner. I think twins is just something you usually accept and get excited about WHEN it happens.

Why would you want three kids at your age?

Oh sure! After the initial shock wore off. Haha. But to actively WANT them?!

Identical twins are "accidents" - for lack of a better word. They don't really run on anyone's side of the family. Not like fraternal twins do.
