Need Opinions! (baby girl name)

posted 4th Aug '12
At our ultrasound last week, technician said she thought it might be a girl. We will find out for sure August 27 but are getting used to the idea of a baby girl! Up until this point we haven't really talked about girl names because every time we do we butt heads. My husband has had a name picked out for his "future daughter" since before we met.. I can't get over it.. it get's better after hearing it a few times but it's just not clicking for me...

I need HONEST opinions. don't hold back!!!

The name is Camber. (pronounced like Amber but with a C)

My husband is a car buff and this name is also a term. The term is a reference to suspension.. it's basically a "stance" for vehicles. i can't make him understand that our children don't need vehicle terms for names.

here is a "cambered" truck

It's okay, not something I would choose personally for my LO. But, there is nothing wrong with naming kids after something to do with vehicles. DH is big into trucks and DD's name came from his 72 Chevy Cheyenne.

You adjust Camber on a race car. I thought of using it awhile back because I wanted a C name but I chose another one. I like it a lot.

Terrible name.

I had a name like that I had picked out for a "Future Daughter" Claribel/Clarabelle

Husband said hell no. I dealt with it and DD is named Paige now.

Cheyenne is a pretty name! (: It actually sounds like a name to me, though.. Camber just doesn't.

He's completely stubborn.. he's like "Oh, I just don't get a say so?" I'm like yes! but we need to agree on a name not let one pick and the other hate it.. he says he's just going to say no to everything I suggest :/

...frustrating.

SO is the same way. We were butting heads on the boys name. He hated everything I suggested. It took almost a month and a half to get it through his head that we have to compromise.

There are tons of other things that go along with cars that sound more like names, you just have to look and maybe you both can agree on something better. I like Nova, I think that would be a cute name. That was on our list but we decided on Cheyenne.

I know what you mean! Holley is another one.. it's a brand name of carburetors I believe.. but he is DEAD set on Camber.

Honestly, we've butted heads on both.. just not as much with the boy names.. girls though has been terrible. I'm like wtf. our baby has to have a damn name! Obviously not right now.. but soon.

Just do what I did (I really didn't want to name my DD Isabella, but her daddy LOVES twilight lol) and let him use that as her middle name. That way you find a name you like and he's got the one he likes. If you refer to her (if LO is a girl) by the name you chose long enough everyone else will start to pick it up. I'm not due until October and have been referring to DD as Ivy since I found out for sure she is a girl. Even her daddy calls her by Ivy all the time now lol.

sounds like something thrown together is there another car you guys can agree on
Lexus, Porsche, Mercedes, Dakota, Miata, Maxima (pronounced Maxeema), Shelby, Corolla, Camry, Kia, Royce, and the name Chevrolet but hey if he is set on the name maybe picking out a good middle name would help it flow better
