Did you give up on shaving?

posted 4th Aug '12
I've had two kids so far, and with both of them, I made an effort to be fairly smooth for labor.. lol.. but this time, I just don't know if I give a smurf.

I'm seven months pregnant.. I have a toddler and an 8 year old.. and I'm always exhausted, and shaving my legs etc.. is a serious frickin chore..

I can't see a part of my shaved areas without a mirror or acrobatics, lmao.. and even just shaving my legs is exhausting and time consuming..

So, I'm wondering.. has anyone ever gone into labor hairy? Were you self-conscious? Did anyone care? Was your SO embarrassed of you? lmao.

I know some people have their SO shave for them, but that's just not gonna happen here, so to give me that advice would be useless, but thanks anyway.

i continued to shave, but my OB commented on it (awkward, i know) telling me that most women do not shave and she was suprised to see that i was shaved at 39 weeks. I only did it, because i prefer to. If you don't want to, don't worry about it, no one will care!

I definitely prefer it.. I hate being hairy.. but its good to know that most women don't shave that late in the game, so I won't feel like I'm a gross rarity.. lmao..

With my first one.. I couldn't get the epidural right away (took forever to dilate and I was induced) so they gave me demoral.. and it made me really loopy.. and I actually commented on it when they came to check me.. I said, "I'm well-groomed for someone who can't see it, huh?" lmao..

I was proud of myself... but I was 18 and I was into yoga back then. Now, not so much.

I did too with my last two.. but I don't know if I care enough this time.

I mean damn, I'm only a couple years away from 30.. people don't really expect women who are almost 30 with almost 3 kids to be smooth and sexy do they?

And on that note, they can't expect a women whose pushing a gory bloody life out of her body to be smooth and sexy either. lmao...

I mean for gods sake, I may smurf on the table for all I know.. should I really be struggling to be smooth when I do it?

My smurf looked like a jungle when I went into labor. I didn't care. They shaved me because they needed too.

Wow.. so it was like such a jungle that the baby couldn't find its way out without them shaving it? lol.. jk.. but really, why did they need to shave you? I know that it used to be common, like standard procedure for them to do that, but that it isn't anymore..

lmao!!   My hubby told me in the beginning of my pregnancy that he would help me if I needed it.. but towards the end of my pregnancy, I asked him if he would help me and he was like... "Sorry, no.." hahahaha Oh well, gotta do what you gotta do. I got a pedi too a week before my due date and it still looked good when I went it. The dr. was probably like, "damnnnn"

LOL.. The Veet and Nair type products don't work for my legs.. and I don't think I'd be comfortable trying them on my elsewheres.. lol.. and I Know my husband won't help me in any way..

I mean, if it was a life or death situation, he might be willing to shave me.. lol.. but I don't think I'll ever be in a situation where my survival depends on him shaving any part of my body, so it'll never happen.
