Kidney Infection Pain vs. Labor
posted 15th May
So maybe this is a silly question... and I wasn't really sure where to post but it's something that I've wondered about and was reminded of it by another post regarding labor....
In the beginning of my pregnancy (12 weeks...) I had an awful kidney infection. It was the worst pain I have ever felt (never been in labor! yet!). It was an abdomen stabbing pain and like someone had ahold of my insides and continued to twist them. It made me scream, cry, get sick and writhe all over the place. (re-living here lol). At first I was terrified that something was wrong with thebaby because of where the pain was.... luckily he was fine!! But the pain...
My question is, has anyone ever experienced this and how would you compare it to labor? It's just something that I have been curious about!!I know a lot of women experience different things, but I had to ask!

I had kidney stones and an infection at the same time while I was pregnant with my son. I also had over 18 hours of labor before an emergency c-section. In my opinion the kidney pain was worse than labor. BUT I never had to push a baby out, so I don't know about that!

Kidney infection pain can be worse than labor. Usually when I get a kidney infection I feel the pain in one of my sides and it goes into my back. It is awful and when I was pregnant with my daughter I actually thought I was in labor...but it was just a kidney infection!

i had a bladder infection at 27 weeks and it hurt so bad i was lying on the floor crying and actually threw up. it was the worst pain i had ever felt. i have had contractions in my back quite a few times and it did not even compare to what i had felt with the bladder infection.
