worst pain

i have been having the worst toothache of my life these past few days. now its keeping me awake at night. i take tylenol every 4 hours and use orajel but nothing is helping it now. its making the whole right side of my head hurt. should i just go to the ER? maybe they can help me out with antibiotics and pain meds until i can get to a dentist. i just want some sleep  

I wouldn't go to the ER for a tooth ache.

Ibueprofen 400mg? I am not sure if it is approved while pregnant though. I was Allowed Tylenol and Tylenol pm while pregnant but that was 5 years ago Nd I don't know what's ok now.

yeah i dont understand why ibuprofen isnt ok but they can prescribe you vicoden =/

it just started getting bad and i have to wait til they switch my medicaid over to pregnancy medicaid so i can get the dental insurance

If it's keeping you up and nothing is really helping it's better to go in. I had to go into the ER for the same problem last year. It was the same tooth I've had problems with since I was 10 or 12 and had a root canal done on a few years back. They gave me some antibiotics for it (a dying nerve became infected and during the antibiotic round my face swelled to the size of a grapefruit on that one side). They're not really equipped for dental stuff at most hospitals, but if they suspect it might be infected they'll try to do something and tell you to follow up with your dentist.

Have you even tried? My dentist will even see you at 2am if its bad enough: most have an after hours number on their message system.

ok so i just went thru this last week you can go to the hospital they will call your doctor and give u pain pills and an antibiotic for the pain it could be causing you to have an ear infection but its up to you what you decide ........ i just waited til my doctors appt and talked to him then hope it gets better for you

yeah my appointment is monday. idk i might try to lay down again im so exhausted. only dentsist who accepts medicaid is 30 minutes away and i dont even have the gas to get there. my ob appointment is monday morning and i get free medical transportation to that appointment. it just sucks right now being kept awake by this throbbing pain
