One brand of soy formula working better than another?

My son is 5 weeks old and has been having a ton of stomach issues since birth. We have pretty much come to an agreement that he is allergic to milk, so hes on soy now. We started with Gerber soy because that is what WIC provides, but I had to get Similac soy a few days ago and hes MUCH better since we've started it! Virtually no spit up or fussiness.

Doesnt make any sense to me! Has anyone else heard/had the same issue with one brand working better than another?

DD is the same way. They wouldn't switch her WIC until her next appt and it was 2 months away. So we bought the walmart brand and it works SOOO much better then gerber.

That's pretty common  

If you talk to your LOs pedi about it, they can write you a note for WIC, and they will let you get that kind on your WIC.

I have never heard of it so I was really confused! haha. Im SO glad we switched (it was an accident--I used what I had a coupon for). I will definitely see about getting a note for it!

Did WIC cover the walmart brand? I hadnt even thought about trying that kind--I'm afraid to switch now though haha

Question when your son was fussy did he whine alot my daughter doesn't really spit up but she's constantly fussy i was wondering maybe if she was allergic to milk

Idk about the Soy thing, but both Cade & Maki only could use Enfamil... not Similac.

Constant crying. If hes not sleeping hes crying--and he fights sleep so then hes overtired which makes him even more upset. But chances are, if a baby is allergic to milk they will spit up.

Oh ok. We ended up switching our daughter back to Similac Sensitive because the Soy made her sooo constipated and she never spit up so I think being a ftm I just got too anxious but she is doing great now! I hope your son has gotten better!
