Fdozen veggies in pasta salad?

I'm making pasta salad for my baby shower tomorrow. I sent SO out with a list of things he needed to get me. I put everything away and said, umm Hun you forgot the veggies for the pasta salad. He said, no I didn't I got a bag of broccoli and a bag of carrots. I'm like   you're not supposed to use frozen veggies you're supposed to buy fresh ones I told you that. He swears he didn't hear me tell him I needed fresh ones before he left   , men. Anyways, can I possibly use these without making it gross? I feel like if I cook them, they're going to get mushy or something later. I don't care for myself lol I hate veggies so I eat around them but I'd like to have good food for my guests. And he won't go buy new stuff so I'm kinda stuck. Any suggestions would be terrific, thanks!

Yuck; no I wouldn't use them. I hate frozen veggies tho. I think they'd ruin the pasta salad.

I guess you could use them. Cook them gently and cool them quickly, and pat dry so they arent too mushy.

what else were you putting in the pasta salad? Do you have any onions?

  That's what I'm worried about. He loves them but he doesn't understand the difference.

I have tri colored rotini, and cheese to cut up, then the Italian dressing and salad supreme. No onions or anything here. Can I just thaw them out? Lol I'm useless with this because I don't eat them, I just cook them for him usually.

I make that same salad. The only veggies I put in there are onions and pimentos. You could leave them out and it would still taste good. I have had it where people put sliced lunch meat in it and was good.

I wouldn't thaw them out, maybe the carrots but the broccoli will be gross.

Nope, I don't have a valid license at the moment. Otherwise, I'd do the shopping myself because he always forgets something.

So I made the pasta salad lol. I threw the veggies in with the boiling pasta for just a minute. Then drained and rinsed with cold water. The veggies felt crisp so hopefully it'll be ok. Lmao if not SO can explain why it sucks.

It was good. Everyone said the veggies tasted like they normally would in pasta salad. Lol thank god because I didn't want to serve bad food.
