Go back and read over what I wrote again. I never said anyone had to have the same opinion about the book...not at all (see the part of my comment that says "So you have a difference in opinions") I had no problem with other people on this same thread that said they hated the book; I just don't agree with the part where someone starts putting someone else down for liking it. You can disagree without trying to make someone else look like an idiot, you know?

No one called anyone stupid or an idiot.

I never said anyone directly called anyone stupid, or an idiot. It's just the way things were said. That's all.

Its nothing more than a piece of crap which portrays me and others like me as nothing more than sadistic obsessed stalkers who have multiple sexual partners because we're emotionally broken and are waiting to be 'saved' by some 24 year old virgin and her vanilla bleeding pussy.

not really... the bible was probably its era's 50 shades.

Plus I'm an erotica writer myself .. I kind of have a bit of insight into all of this and one of the main rules is to do thorough research before bringing fetishes and lifestyles into these things. Maybe its just a book to you but thousand of young girls are reading this thinking that they are supposed to sexually function like this ... and in a world that believes that sex ed is bad how many of them are going to do some of the stupid (not using protection during periods) things? They'll do it because they think its the norm.

Hahaha. Oh my .... I think you , & people like you , who take this book as some sort of personal attack are completely over analyzing the situation. It portrays ONE man's life. Who uses the BDSM life style as a theriputic technic to try & heal. No where did it say everyone who lives the BDSM life style is broken ? It's written about one person. Just as you can have different forms of vanilla sex , there are different ways to do BDSM. I have no idea why people who practice BDSM get so up tight & defensive. As if they need to defend the way they smurf. I'm quite positive there actually are people (not just the character in the book) who use BDSM as some sort of mental therapy. Get over yourself

Firstly BDSM has absolutely nothing to do with the way I smurf but has everything to do with how I live my life. If it you only use the BDSM template for sexual gratification its called fetishism ... another thing the book got wrong. And yes it does imply that the vast majority of Dom's at least are mentally broken due to the fact that the reason why he was the way he was is due to the way he was treated by Dom's when he was a sub. Plus clearly his 'healing' wasn't working since he was an abusive, stalking, and sexually dysfunctional excuse for a human being. Hmmm clearly all we need to do to save the masochist psychopaths of this world is to throw them a virgin sacrifice.

Um , no. It's written about one man's situation. Some people are so sensitive.

I wouldn't call it written ... typed up by someone with a very rough grasp of the English language more like. And no I'm not being sensitive, I'm just concerned with all the 16 year old girls flooding some of my online BDSM groups looking for a Dom because they've read these stupid books and want to give it a go.

I tend to agree with you. I've been wanting to do a poll that' something along the lines of...

"After you read 50 shades of gray did you attempt to experience any part of a BDSM lifestyle?"

Well , if those young girls don't have the common sense to realize that Fifty Shades is a fictional book & shouldn't be taken quite so literally , that's their problem. But , nothing wrong with trying it out , & exploring your sexuality. I asked SO if he wanted to try some of the bondage & whatnot after reading the books (we had both never done anything like that) ... & it was a lot of fun. Some people just take it too literally.

most peoples idea of a BDSM lifestyle is to be handcuffed to the bed for 20 minutes while being pounded and maybe a spanking. If they came and lived with me for a day they'd be running for the door.
