Elephant in the room

For reference about a non biased opinion on circing.

I love controversy. I just posted it on my FB. lol

I haven't watched it yet, but I think the comments are interesting on the video.
First comment "Wow - this is an incredible presentation. Thank you for this. As an adult male, my anger at having been circumcised as a child has not abated. It is a relief to see a scientist fighting for the rights of the intact child."

Changed my views. I always thought it had to be done or they would get an infection. Then again I never really looked it up being that I have girls.

I completely agree with what he is saying about how parents are misinformed. You'd think that your dr. would give you literature on the surgery.

I completely agree. I think they need to do that and infromation about if a mom is keeping a boy intact.

I can't believe the us is still doing this surgery. & not to be gross but I alwyas wondered why my dh had a ring around it, I guess I know now.

It is! I didn't realize that the forskin is sealed during infancy. Interesting stuff there for sure.

I know.. But of course they still have the botched research to back most of the stuff up. I wished people and doctors would update their learning...

I agree.
Same thing with actual child birth. I want to try my best to go natural. But when I was asked that question when I started to go into premature labor the nurse looked at me and said yeah okay good luck with that. It really pissed me off, Especially after all the research I did and made a decision that was right for me.
Not to be presumptive but I honestly think dr.'s push (or not inform) patients b.c it's extra money in their pockets.

Very true.

My son is intact, but as of late for some reason, he has been having lots of problems. And I have a feeling that he has to get circ'd because it is to the point where it hurts and it is affecting him peeing.   Wow.. I really hope that you do get the chance to do natural. I would love ot do it. With my youngest son I tried to do it but I was not in the right mind set to do so. My youngest son is Circ'd because it wasnt my choice, I gave him up for adoption and his dads thought it would be the right choice to do so, and for that I am very heart broken but there is nothing that I could do about it.

I've read that is the case with a lot of doctors, unfortunately... especially in the US :/
