getting an abortion because of being mentally ill?

I'm wonering is it a good idea to get an abortion if you have a severe-moderate form of schizophrenia? I mean what if you actually want children in the future? I want kids. But it's like in reality my mom says I shouldn't think of it really. If that's ok to you what about tubal litigation? Opinions?

I think that's a very individual kind of decision and there's quite a bit more to take into consideration.

Schizophrenia is a serious issue, you best talk to a doctor about it.

IMO, that needs to be a personal decision.

I know plenty of people who have a mom or a parent with some kind of mental illness and they are fine. Are you worried about your child getting the illness or are you worried about being able to be a good mom?

We adpoted a girl whos mom was schizophrinic. At one point she abandoned them at home, and didnt come back for days (among other things). It would be pretty traumatizing to go thru. I guess it would depend.

I think that you need to do what is best for you and the potential child. If you are in not in a place, mentally, to take care of the child, I would abort. You can look into long term forms of birth control such as the two forms of IUD or implanon rather than a tubal.

Get a professional opinion. See if certain things can be regulated effectively enough with meds so tht you can be a functional parent.

A current abortion has no bearing on future children. In other words, you can still have children later is you choose to abort now.
