Severe postpartum swelling

During my delivery 3 days ago I had been given like 3 bags of fluid in my IV line
Today (our first day waking up at home) my legs and feet are seriously swollen... My feet are almost twice their normal size. And I am having difficultly walking
Terrified I called my doctors office and the nurse told me that it was normal because of the IVs and that it could get worse ( over the next TWO WEEKS!) and to just relax and don't be on my feet for more than 45 min at a time.

She wasnt reassuring enough for me and the severity of the swelling is really scaring me. Anyone else experienced this so I know I'm not alone here?
I feel like my legs are going to explode... After having no swelling of the extremities during pregnancy this is all new to me and I'm scared.

yeah its normal for sure. drink plenty of water. if you dont drink enough the swelling will get worse

I never had any issues with swelling after receiving IV fluids..

The only other thing i can think of is Postpartum Pre Eclampsia

I've never had this issue before. Try drinking plenty of water and elevate your feet/legs whenever possible.

I feel your pain!!

My feet are HUGE. Its hard for me to even bend my toes and rotate my ankles. My doctor said it was normal and was tested for pre-e while still in the hospital because the swelling started the day after I had him.

I've been doing feet soaks and using ice packs on them and its really helped.

Thats exactly how i feel ..like bending is impossible ..Ugh I'm glad im not the only one but omggg it's terrible.. I've got them elevated with ice now & I've been drinking a ton of water... I was told grapefruit would help too so I ate 2 of thoes lol hopefully itll go down by tomorrow I don't know how long I can last like this!

Mine are the same way...I had LO on the 17th and my feet/ankles just keep getting bigger....like so big that i cant find any shoes to fit me, feet feel like theyre going to explode when i walk .and when I show someone my feet, they gasp and ask if thats normal..lol. It definitely sucks....Elevation hasnt helped me at all   Im hoping it goes away soon. Goodluck!
