can i take a bath????

i'm 38 weeks and barely dilated and i don't think i've lost my plug, can i take a bath? i mentioned this to my aunt and she was like   "you can't take a bath this late!!!"

i called my doc the other day to ask if i could go swimmin and he said ya and im 3cm

yea...actually they recommend you take a bath because its relaxing and makes you feel better...agh!! the third trimester SUCKS!!

the only time you aren't supposed to take a bath is if your water has broken.
I take a bath daily and I'm 3cm and lost my plug over a week ago. I'd be miserable without it.

oh yeah they used to tell women they couldn't take baths at all in pregnancy back when our mothers and grandmothers were pregnant. But they used to tell them that if they lifted their hands over their heads the cord would get wrapped around the babies neck.

only thing bad about a bath when your 2 weeks aways fro delivery is getting out!! it sucks ass!! i always slide back down in the tub!

we are almost there mama!!! although, depending on how my surgical consult goes tomorrow, i might be having a baby!!!!! i have gallstones and my gallbladder needs to come out ASAP (hence the NEED for a bath) and my doc *might* suggest just taking the baby by c-section if the operation is too risky to try and leave him in there...

i actually had a woman get onto me for turning on a ceiling fan and when she said that about the cord i was just in disbelief, i should've asked her if she thought i should put whiskey on the baby's gums when he teethes lol

My husband won't let me take a bath unless he's around to help me get out. About a month ago I slipped and thankfully just bruised up my arm and rib cage, baby's fine but it scared both of us... So definately have someone who can help you get out!

The only thing my Dr says is bad about taking a bath is too hot of a temp and if your water has broke. If your water has broke stay out of the tub. I think the temp of the water is not supposed to be over 99 or something like that. Basically, don't make it as hot as a hot tub.

Yeah, I had one of my least favorite people at work lecture me on such things. I just about slapped her. (to make things even better she's never been pregnant, but proceeded to tell me how everything I was doing... like um my job and water aerobics, and eating dairy... was going to kill my baby) I should have filed a comlaint on her... butI doubt it would have done any good

i dont have gallstones but the walls of my gallbladder are super thin and its filled with sludge...im on a diet because of it : (

before i found out i was pregnant the doctor was talking about taking it out.

yeah i know what you mean.....i fell and slide on the floor one day and smacked my head against the side of the tub and busted my nose...the baby was all fine and dandy though she didnt get hurt.....this happened at like 2 in the morning also i like my ealry morning bath routine!
