2 year old party..

What did you do for your kids' second birthday party?
Please no wonderful outdoor/park/BBQ ideas, DD's birthday is December 21  
Any suggestions on places or themes would be awesome.. I'm trying to get organized this year cos stores have almost no birthday decor around Christmas.

We just had a smallish party at home, banana themed(her favourite food) although there wasn't a single real banana at the party because of a crop wipeout making them $14 a kg(that's about $7 a pound) in my country. Over here july(when her birthday is) is winter so we were limited wih locations too. I just had it at my parents, blew up lots of balloons, got a ton of toys from friends and set up a food table them lots of chairs in a big circle around the play area and decorated the area. It was fun and went really well  

What's she interested in? I got nothing, mainly because we don't know enough people to really have a party. We will probably do balloons, cake, presents at home.

We're doing a small "Jungle" theme since our son is absolutely a wild child

Picking up some vine garland from the craft store, green balloons, making paper cut outs of leaves, and having family over for dinner, cake, and presents.

(Granted, we can do it outside, weather permitting - but we've planned ahead for the elements not being in our favor)

She likes animals, books.. I guess she'll be 'into' more stuff when she's two and can vocalise it more.
I like the idea of a jungle theme, she watches a show called Raa Raa the noisy lion and that's set in the jingly jangly jungle, hahaha.
We don't really know enough people to have a big party either, I'm going to have to be more sociable this year. She'll have some friends at nursery more by then hopefully!

Doesn't matter, cuz she won't be 2 for like 18 more months   right???

We just had a get together with food and cake and ice cream and didn't bother with themes or decorating. 2 year olds don't care, they just like their family and friends. And CAKE.
