SOOOO SCARED! =(

AHHH... I'm suppose to be at the hospital in 2 hours, and I feel like I'm going to have a heart attack. I'm being induced. I've waited SOOO long for the moment to see my sweet baby boy, but for some reason I'm so scared and wish for a few more days to push it back... I'm sure that sounds super crazy, but my nerves are just on over drive right now. I havent slept one bit, I feel nauseous, and I'm just really scared. I've also noticed my inner thigh pain and swelling in my legs has increased dramatically in the last 24 hours... Pretty sure my body is ready to have this baby! I was due 2 days ago and really wish he would have come on his own.

I would love some feedback from some other momma's that have been induced or were this anxious about birth. I'm just really scared, and my husband keeps telling me everything is going to be fine.... well easy for him to say lol!

Oh, on another note... I'm NOT dilated, or effaced at all... baby hasnt even dropped and is measuring at 9..5 lbs. So they want to try pitocin and see if my body will allow him to drop, and then I guess if not I'll be having a c-section. =(

You do not have to induce if you don't want to. You can let the baby come when it was ready. I was scared to death of pitocin and inducing. I was not dilated at all or effaced and I drank 32 oz red raspberry leaf tea on 1/3/12 then my contractions started then settled. They started again on 1/4/12 and I drank 32 more oz. Then I had her on her due date 1/5/12. Idk if my body was just ready or if the tea helped but I will not take the tea or induce in the future. Just my story   good luck.

So push it back, you've only just hit your due date lol.

You could try the tea, walking, a yoga ball, sex, fresh pineapple, spicy food, and/or squats. They are all safer than the pitocin. I personally heard it made labor horrible but idk.

here is my labor story didnt feel like typing everything. Also the cord was wrapped around his tummy not his leg.

Not good at this I will just basically tell you what happened My induction date was July 4th. We got to the hospital at 5:30 and around 7 started pitocin. I was already dilated a 5 and things started slow. My contractions were already regular but by around 8 I could feel every one and it was just uncomfortable. At around 10 my Dr came in and broke my water and instantly my contractions were KILLER. Worst pain of my life. I got my epidural a few hours later and they had to re do it because I could still feel my contractions on the left side. After my water broke things progressed rather fast by the time I knew it around 2 I was 9 dilated but with every contraction his heart rate decreased and my Dr checked my cervix and it was swollen. They gave me something to stop contractions because the baby was under too much stress and as soon as they shot it into my arm the baby’s heart beat stopped and it was the worst feeling in the world. I was screaming at the nurses and crying and everyone was in a panic they kept moving me into different positions to try and find the heart beat. They found it but my dr said we need to do a c section now. At around 3 I was taken back for the surgery and I was so worried and upset and scared. My dr said his cord was wrapped around his arm and leg and his head was face up. At 3 46 my beautiful 7 lb 10 oz 22 in baby boy was born. The best day of my life.

My BP has been increasing and the amount of protein in my urine.... So he doesnt want to let me go any further... Also because the size of the baby. I'm totally miserable and want this pregnancy to be over with, I'm just reallly scared!!!!

OP my induction was cake. 13h and my contractions weren't bad at all until my water broke. got my epi an hour later, and pushed my son out in 1 contraction 3h after i got my epi. just think positive.   good luck.

Oh my goodness... That sounds really scary. I'm so glad that things turned around quickly and you and baby are okay... BTW If that's him in the picture what a beautiful baby!!! I'm sooo excited to finally meet mine!!!

Thank you!! I'm hoping this will be the ONE thing about this pregnancy that goes smoothly sicne everything else has been one heck of a ride!

its normal to be scared or nervous. i was induced with my 1st 4 days before my edd due to baby size. She ended up only being 8 lbs 6 ozs they estimated in the 9s they had me come in the night before and at midnight they started this one pill they stick inside to soften your cervix around 6am they started the pitocin, by noon i was 5 cms dialated they had broke my water around 10am I got my epi cause it hurt bad with the contractions, i quit dialating, at 5pm i was still at 5 cms they had the pitocin as high as they legally could and my contractions was intense and on top of one another however i would not dialate. drs told me i could wait and see if i would dialate however they was still worried about baby size and was afraid the baby would get stuck coming out. they wanted to do a csection (i had already researched it cause i had a feeling from the start i would need one, just instinct or crazy notion lol) well i had my csection and baby was perfectly fine and healthy at 8lbs 6 ozs. Good luck and try not to stress. With your bp issues its best for you and the baby to go ahead I would think. I know that pre-e can be deadly if it gets to bad.

yep that’s him. Excited for you to meet your LO soon. Don’t be nervous, holding your baby for the first time is worth anything. Just expect the unexpected

Well, I just want to say thank you to everyone who replied to my post on the day I was being induced! I was a nervous wreck!!!!!

After 2 days of being on pitocin.... the first day for 8 hours, and then they stopped it over night and restarted in the morning for another 8 hours NO CHANGES happened... baby never dropped, and I never dilated or thinned out or anything... the doctor had stopped it and took me in for a c-section...

@ 6:12pm My BEAUTIFUL baby boy was born.. 10 pounds 14 ounces, and 22 inches long!!!!!!!! NO WONDER he hadn't dropped!!! LOL he's a BIG BOY! I ended up needed 2 units of blood transfused after the c-section which was expected because of the low iron that I had leading up to delivery.

He's the most amazing thing I've ever seen before in my entire life, and every miserable day and night I had over the 40 weeks was totally worth it!
