How Do YOU Do It?

posted 1st Aug '12
Wash your LO's face that is?

Logan is 2 1/2 months old. He loves his baths, but hates getting his face washed. I usually rinsed off the baby wash with a wet rag, but wasn't able to get all the soap off ... his face was constantly dry. A friend told me to gently pour the water over his face while covering his mouth, and he HATED it. Screamed his little head off for a good minute. But the soap rinsed off clean, and his lil face looked great.

It seems kind of cruel, since he freaked out when I did that. But rags aren't cutting it.

What do you do?

I just pour water on him. lol
But he loves it. I think even if he didn't though, it would be the quickest way to do it.

Lol. I mean, besides the screaming, it gets the job done well.

Did your LO eventually get used to it, or does s/he still freak out?

My oldest loved it from about 5-6 months until about 2 years old and now she hates everything. My youngest is 6 months and still hates it but she doesnt scream or cry just kinda jumps.

I literally dump water in the middle of his head. He LOVES it. I honestly think he just likes the holing his breath factor. But yeah..If it's not me dumping water on his head..he's trying to do it himself. & little man is 15 months old.

As a baby-baby..he HATED it. haha, but once they are older..you can make it a game

I just wet the washcloth in the already somewhat soapy bath water and wipe his face. I've never dumped water on his face lol that's so mean.   Babies' skin is pretty good at naturally keeping them clean, plus they don't really get "dirty" so all that extra soap and stuff is somewhat unnecessary.

This, except my 3.5 year old is terrified of the water, so I can't do this to her.
My 2 year old though, hell yeah. I just dump it on and she LOVES it hah!

I just rinse his washcloth really well and wipe his face with it. I don't use soap on his face, it breaks him out.
