For those who have successfully toilet trained

Did you let bubs practice sitting on a potty from a young age like well before they were actually ready to start toilet training? And if you did do you think it helped or hindered the process?
What age did you start toilet training?

I trained my daughter at 18months. I had a little potty in the restroom and would sit her on it while I used the big toilet. She caught on quick.

That's good idea! Did you start at 18 months or before?

At the day care I worked at I introduced it at 15 months and had most of them completely potty trained by their 2nd birthday. Some take longer than others it just depends on when they are ready and how consistent it is.

My oldest who i now 6yrs old was toilet trained by 18 monthsand it only took a short time. He watched us use the potty and he decided to do it himself. He was so excited to be a "big boy". My son who is 5yrs old he's toilet trained but took much longer, he still wets the bed at nights, but I've been told that alot of boys may wet the bed until they are around age 11. My youngest right now is 13 months and is just starting to walk without holding on and is always taking his diaper off like my oldest did. Hopefully he's a fast potty trainer, too! Specially seeing that I'm due to have twins in December.

No she always like following me into the RR so I bought her a potty at 18months. It took me two weeks to have her fully trained. But she has been in underwear since.

I'm not exactly sure, I just had the potty chair in the bathroom and of course the bathroom is never a private place when you have kids.... they automatically know where to find you....lol I would just test a few different things. Setting them on the potty and see if they go if so a reward system works well. Or just have to observe. They know or learn more than you think.

I have been putting RJ on a little potty chair since he was 9 months old. Sometimes he goes in it when I tell him to try. But after he started walking he refused to sit on it. Now he has a potty ring that fits on the big toilet. He always sits on it on the floor when we use the toilet and when we're done we'll sit him on it on the big toilet. He's only gone a few times on it, but he likes sitting on it. I doubt he'll be trained soon, but he's at least getting used to thr concept.

Yeah, we kept potty in living room for quite some time. One day he was running around without a diaper on and decided to start peeing in it. He has ever sense. Poop is a whole nother issue we're still working on.
