convertible car seat....

posted 31st Jul '12
I want to start looking into getting a convertible car seat already because my son is growing like a weed. I need it to be good but a reasonable price. my fiance is the only one bringing in the money. Yes i know my son is only almost 4 months old...but at his 2month checkup he was 26inches. His infant car seat only goes up to 30 inches....help me choose a reasonably priced convertable car seat that is good

The my ride 65 is the best for the price imo. If you're wanting to rear face for a while anyways.

The Diono brand Radian models are AWESOME seats.

Its a bit pricier ($200-300), but SOO WORTH IT! They're built incredibly well and if you get the R120, it will RF until 45 lbs. Then FF in a 5-point harness until 80lbs and then act as a booster til 120lbs---making it THE ONLY SEAT YOU'LL EVER NEED.

I have one for each of our vehicles (2 total) and will get another for each car when/if we get another baby to bring home with us. I will never own a different brand. LOVE THEM.

My 3 year old is 40 inches and 35lbs and still rear faces quite comfortably and loves his seat---no complaints whatsover. And his seat is red (his favorite color) in my car, so he tells me all about how awesome his red seat is ALL the time. It even comes with a cupholder and a carrying strap. The seat itself folds down to make it easy to haul around and move from car to car or onto airplanes. AND it is one of the narrowest seats on the market. making it easier to (someday) put 3 carseats across in a CAR if you need to! I've done it in my Pontiac G6!

And the safety ratings are TOPS!

Yep. My son rear faced in his until he was 4yrs 3 months. They are pretty simple to install with both LATCH and a seatbelt in a lot of vehicles and have a great price point... Especially when you can find a good sale.

I just bought the graco my ride 65 from Burlington coat factory. It was $130 and I had a 15% off coupon so I paid like 110 total. I did a lot if comparing and it was the safest most affordable. The britax marathon was my second choice then the radian.
