Pregnancy opening an incision

Can your growing belly actually rupture an incision from surgery? I have one way back in my belly button from my gallbladder surgery (Aug 2011) and it's been itching SO BAD lately. I'm kind of scared it's going to pop open one day

No. You had that surgery long enough ago that it will not be an issue.

No its all healed by now!just supper anoying

It can, but that usually happens with a newer, non-mature scar. Scars take between 6 months to two years to mature.

I have that, and had a c section. I was told it was the birth itself that held the posibility of rupture.

no mine feels the same way. yours is all healed up so its just like normal skin but with a scar.

If the c-section is less than about 13months old. that is the number my OBGYN gave me.

My appendectomy scar had to watched because it was under 2 years old. (It was 5ish months old when I got pregnant.) It itched like crazy and even hurt pretty badly at some points, but nothing ever happened to it. I as told it would be the most risking while delivering.

They will be about that far apart. Depending when she comes. But they are due to be 13.5 mo apart.

I had no probs with mine and no one eversaid it needed to be watched(I got pregnant 10months after) or anything about giving birth causing a problem.

and my gallbladder will be about 10mo healed.

My firend had hers taken out at about8 weeks and had no probs. She is a bigger girl though so she had less streching(didnt really look prego)that might have made a diff

I'm going to ask my OB about it whenever I go in. I have a feeling he won't be worried about it. I mean, even healed, that area of skin would still be sensitive, right? It should be healed seeing as it's been a year now...

This is something I'm kinda scared about. I had my son 14 months ago ,and had 2 incisions ...The out side one was up and down and the inside one was from side to side. I"m not sure why there was 2 incisions but the thoughts of something opening scares the crap out of me .
