DEAD BEAT DAD SIGNED UP FOR MILITARYYY. i have a ?

posted 14th May
okayyy so my babys "dad" signed up for the military (marines)
I have already filed for child support. Im just waiting for him to get his papers which is taking FOREVERRRR.
anyways, He has 2 sons. His other babys mama said that she has been in the recruiters office signing papers. What is she signing papers for?
How will child support work now that he will be in the military?
he is NOT on the birth certificate so how will this effect everything if at all?

Does he HAVE to tell the military that he has 2 kids? & if he doesnt what happens?

please help!
THANKS

If he didn't sign the birth certificate, the court system would have to prove paternity before you would receive any child support.

i dont think he will have to pay if he's not the birth certificate. you will need him to sign it or get a dna to confirm it. as far as geting the actualy cs im sure it will be awhile since hes getting deployed (if at that) i would put a rush on that! !

he signed a proof or agreement to paternity upon the child's birth.

my son's dad started paying child support when I filed when he was 5 yrs old he never signed the birth certificate we just had to do a paternity test and then they started the child support once the results came back and we went back to court to figure out an amount... but if he pays child support for any other kids you will be getting alot less... but on the better side of things he will get the child support taken directly out of his marine checks or any job he gets... so don't worry

No disrespect but, I know that's not true. My birth father wasn't on my birth certificate for years and still had to pay. Just because he wasn't man enough to be my dad didn't mean he didn't still have a responsibility as my biological father.

Over here the father either has to be on the birth certificate or have a dna to pay child support unless he does it willingly!

If he is not on the birth certificate and a paternity test was not done a court will not order child support and neither will the military. If he is on the other kids birth certificate the mom can go to sign papers and have the child put under military health insurance. He does not have to inform the military if he is not on the birth certificate and/or a paternity order has been signed.

Then he either Admitted paternity in a court...or was proven to be your father through dna.

(don't think it was dna though.)

You need a paternity test. Luckily for you, if he is proven to be the father, the Marines will absolutley make sure that he is paying you. If he doesn't, he gets his butt sent to the brig.

Actually it did mean that UNLESS he signed something stating her was the biological father, a dna test was done, or he is on the birth certificate OR he paid child support willingly.

Yep!!! Military makes sure court orders are followed. Major plus if you want the child support and are willing to fight for it.

either way the court will order a paternity test and if he refuses to take the test then he automatically forfeits his right to a paternity test and has so pay...

If you get a paternity test done and take it to the recruiter they will automatically deduct child support from his check
