Recruiters usually have no furthur action with them once they are signed up. You would need to notify his chain of command and they will order him to go to finance and set up a allotment to come directly out of his pay check.

okay now i KNOW i have to either have him take a DNA test OR he has to be on the birth certificate and i know that the military will take it right out of his paycheck but what i REALLY wanted to know was DOES HE HAVE TO TELL THE MILITARY THAT HE HAS 2 KIDS? he knows my son is HIS & i have emails to prove that he said jacob is his so if he doesnt tell the military he has 2 sons could he get into trouble?

Oh I know he'll have to have a paternity test but, I'm simply saying the birth certificate is not the end of the line. Not sure how it was meant originally but, wanted to clarify that as someone else may have interpretted it the same as me.

Hmmm, I'm not sure about that one. I can see him getting in trouble later on down the road if he doesn't tell them and they find out. But I'm not positive.

I'm not 100% sure but, do you know where he's stationed? I could get you contact info for his command if you know where he is. That way you can call and find out, for sure, what you need to do to get the ball rolling. The other thing you can do is just call the recruiter and ask them what needs to be done. You can make it annonymous and not give them your/his info and just get a generalized response, so it doesn't even get back to him.

Quick question. Has he even gone to boot yet? Because the military has no real power over him until he is graduated from boot.

The chain of command will order one asap. You can find out his chain of command (which is what unit he works in and what base) sometimes from the recruiter because they know the career field but if not possibly red cross. If you get no help call the base operator and ask for the IG (thats the inspector General) they can find him and get the process started but it will be up to you to keep on him.

Doesnt matter what he "says" or writes that will be considered hearsay to the military. You need the DNA test which they will require now that he is signed up anyways. You child will also be elligable for base priveldges and/or medical insurance until he gets out.

No he wont. I'v seen it first hand. Unless a court or legal document was signed the military brushes it off as hearsay. He wont even be able to get them in the system without a statement from the court saying the kid is his and they usually require a actual birth certificate for military dependents. If its not done prior to the military then it must be done through the court or a lawyer and no back punishments will be applied.

Very true. He is not "truely" military until BMT graduation and the first set of orders. Until then its the waiting game basically.
