In our house, it's two bites. We caved to a picky eater (which I know isn't the case here) and he's actually teaching his little brother his crappy excuses for not wanting to eat.

How does the "two bite rule" work? What happens if they don't try it? Force feed them? Make them sit there forever until they do? Make them starve?

I know. My ex said his dad wouldn't let him leave the table and if its still on his plate the next day- thats what he would get for breakfast. And my ex is one stubborn little smurf I'm pretty sure his dad wanted to rip his hair out. I've tried that but i cave because after a while the food starts looking gross, even if I stick it in the fridge. Then i feel bad lol.

Me too   I made really great BBQ chicken sandwiches for dinner and Mason actually cried that they look "too yucky" so I gave him cereal instead.

If I know it tastes good I would make them try it, regardless of how it looks.

If my kids have tried something & they genuinely do not like it, I don't force them to eat it.

My 4 year old godbrother wont eat oatmeal because he thinks it looks gross. So in that case I made him try it but because something was soggy I would have said no thats okay ill make you something else lol

I had the SAME problem when I tried to cook fried the other night!

My SO even stepped in and tried to make another batch, and he is a freaking professional chef, they STILL came out nastsy and soggy and falling apart.

It must be the potatos! Perhaps they are using bad batches of potatos or something.

If dinner comes out looking disgusting, i dont make the kids eat it. I just call in chinese or pizza/italian food delivery, lol. My Mom did that to me and it wasnt cool, at all.

YES they were the Great Value brand from Walmart~~~nasty soggy mess that stuck to the pan and was nowhere near edible. Perhaps it is time to write Walmart about this! I normally LOVE the Walmart brand fries because my kids love love love fries, and they are cheap enough to buy in bulk and store in the freezer., and have tasted really good in the past. Fries are their "treat-food" they get for eating healthy foods throughout the week and they were PISSED, lol!
