Do you think more money = a better tattoo? Or do you think the reason some places are cheaper is because they understand people can't afford pricey tattoos?

Someone was arguing with me about this earlier. The first few pics are from the shop he recommend to a friend, saying they were the best out there.. and they're cheap. The second set of pictures are from the artist SO goes to, and he charges $100 an hour, is published, etc. Do you think there's a quality difference, meaning more money DOES equal better tattoos? I chose the best from both, though there are more mediocre ones.

The more expensive shop has better tattoos. To be completely honest, I think the tats from the cheaper shop are kind of smurffy. You get what you pay for.

I've gone to the cheaper shop to get my piercings. Because they're cheap   and they have VERY good piercers. Actually the only piercings I've ever gotten done that didn't reject. But I've heard horror stories about their tattoos. And I just... don't see the hype about 'em. I mean, yeah, the prices are low. But with something permanent like that... you'd think people would want to pay more to make sure the quality is amazing and they get exactly what they wanted.

More expensive are better...obviously.

Are these local shops? What are the names?

I think you can get amazing tattoos without paying out your ass, but it really depends on the shop and the artists.

From those pictures I think the more expensive shops look better.

I missed this one   This is from the cheaper shop... I mean look at the difference between this Mario, and the one the expensive shop did.

Hm I've never heard of either. I do think it is partially you get what you pay for unless you know someone who is great and they give you a discount.

I used to think it didnt matter as long as they were a good artist, but after getting my first tattoo for super cheap and then getting my second at a decent shop I can see the difference, and I wish i would have gone somewhere legit for my first not just where was cheap.  

I've seen amazing and smurffy tattoos from both expensive and cheaper tattoo shops.

Yeah I don't care for the Bengals tattoo   But the quality is insanely good.

It depends, where i go hes really good and also expensive but because i no my artist i get tattoos alot cheaper
