Vent About The NICU

Soooo maybe I'm just hormonal and this was bound to happen at least once BUT this 'NURSING SERVICE' BizNITCH got to me today !!

I call back to see my baby in the NICU and the lady lets my daughter and I back. WELL, she comes out and tells me right before we washed our hands, ' you cant see your baby' and starts walking away... I asked WHYYYYYYYYYYYYY?? really sarcastic b/c #1 she tells me nothing and WHO DOES THAT ANYWAYS?? She tells me, "Oh b/c they are doing a procedure by your baby and blah blah blah.' Okay understandable I can't get mad over that.

So I'm back in the waiting room she took my milk and comes back and says " well its going to be like 2 hours so come back later or get lunch whatever so I took my freeze pack and got up to go get some lunch in the cafeteria' As i was walking away she tells me, " oh and by the way you have 3 bins full of milk so next time you come and have milk i suggest you ask if we need any b/c you have A LOOOOOT, so keep in YOUR freezer and well let you know.!"

OMG I wanted to fricking SLAP HER !!! I have scene the fricking freezer and its HUGEEEE and the bins' my 3 bins full of milk are like the size of a small shoe cubby at a damn preschool for the kids. The nurses have not said a damn word to be about having to much and from my understanding they say bring as much as you can. It made me cry with so much anger towards her for talking to me like i'm a piece of smurf! pumping is the only thing i can do for DD while she is in level one so make me feel terrible like i'm so WRONG for doing the only thing I can. Maybe I'm a baby and just whining but i kid you not she talked to me like i was a complete idiot !! blahhhhhhhhhhh

Uh...and you just allowed her to talk to you like that.....why? Go to her supervisor.

Tell her to smurf off. I would talk to the floor supervisor and let her know that you prefer to not deal with that nurse in future visits. I'm sorry mama, keep taking the milk!

I'm not saying it's right for her to talk to you like that, but maybe she was having a bad day with other parents and took it out on you? You should've got her name and made a complaint about the way she was talking to you.

I would have filed a complaint, I understand shes doing her job but she doesn't have to be a bitch about it. You are only trying to do whats best for your baby

I was so thrown off like in the moment I just started at her and walked away and started crying ! When I came back up I told the nurse director. So i'm really hoping she did something. Or mentioned it b/c i guess you had to be there to really hear how you said it it was terrible !

I would not have let her talk to me like that. I think you should address her supervisor about what happened.

I agree with the others make a complaint. I hate when nurses are rude like you don't have enough stress ...

next time you are there id have something to say. that is not ok for her to talk to you like that. not at all. whether she is having a bad day or not her day could get a whole lot worse when she gets wrote up for talking to you like that.

Well this is the thing she isnt any kid of actual nurse she is just the service lady so she like answers the phone, takes the kids temp when they come in,watched the cameras and takes the milk back ! but yeah she could have been having a bad day true but i just was so thrown off by being talked to like i'm nothing for bringing MILK ??? but anyways i did mention something though to the director shes like the superviosr every day above the charge nurse soo hopefully something is said even just a sorry oh well HAHA i'll def. NOT stop bringing milk maybe like 2 times a week now that i know i have so much

  It's bad enough you can't bring your baby home, but now you have to deal with rude people like her.
