Having a bad day with Labor Pains

posted 14th May
Went to the hospital around 1 last night have contractions about 1-2 minutes apart.

Earlier yesterday I had a doctors apt. and they said i was a half centimeter dilated...last night I dilated a centimeter..
They discharged me because i wasnt dilating anymore since i went to l&d and said if the symptoms persisted after 24-48 hrs to come back.

My question is my contractions are still the same but if im not dilating what should i do to either rid of the pain or help the dilation become more effective?

it might sound weird but it helps me!

get on all 4s on the floor (like doggy style) and bend your back and sway your hips around. It helps me a lot when I am in so much pain I cant even stand up.

Also squatting while holding or leaning on to something and moving my hips around helps a lot.

I was the same, i had really hard contractions druing my last 3 weeks of pregnancy. I was sent to l&d many times thinking it was just early labor , consitering my first daughter was born a month days premature. They sent me home telling me the same thing. I ended up going into labor 2 weeks earlier then my edd. Best way to get rid of pain is to relax and lay on your side with a pillow between your legs... Well that at least worked for me, to help with dilation you can do some labor exersises, or just simply going for a walk or going up and down the stairs a few times before you head to bed.

I try that. I know I may have to go back but i just dont want to go back if im still at 1 1/2 centimeters.
Id try rasberrry leaf tea to help the dilation..but i dont want to be peeing all night.
I mean dang this is my 3rd time being to l&d and sent back home...Im so tired and hot...UGGGGH

Labor excersises?
Im doing the walking thing..I cant do much walking because of my feet swelling so quickly...but im forcing myself so hopefully that'll work

I did this on Friday... I'm still contracting and it's a pain in a$$...
my OB did give me a tylox perscription after four straight days of regular contractions to help with the pain, so I could get some sleep. Other than that all I managed was some minor pain relief (warm bath, sitting on my yoga ball, hubby rubbing my back) but I was still miserable. At this point I'm walking as much as possible and what not to try to get labor started since pain management isn't stopping the contractions.

good luck. The tylox makes the pain much more manageable but you can still feel the contractions

And i feel like i should do things to help bring on labor..
I mean i am almost 38 weeks and the docs said im perfectly ok to go into it. I feel as though he is ready to come out but lol he is stuck or something

Tylox, I think it's another name for Oxycotin. So it's serious pain meds but my OB says it's safe and I'm not going to argue with her at this point.

Your due date is only 3 days ahead of mine. So you are considered full term today, so defiantely anything you can do to get labor going (though they won't induce you just because you're in pain until 38-39 weeks). The Tylox won't stop the contractions but it will make them much more manageable (not that you'll be really happy on it, but a bit more comfortable). It was the only way I managed to get sleep since Friday.Oh, I stayed in L&D for 14 hours on Fridaycontracting the whole time and never got past 1cm and on Monday I was 3 cm and 70%.

Good Luck!
