IMO boys get a lot of standard, boring names and there are less to choose from. I always found it harder to pick out boy names.

For us neither was harder over the other. We had a boy and girl name picked out both times fairly quickly.

Girl names were harder for us. The first time I mentioned my favorite boy names we agreed on Carter James and we never thought twice about it.

The whole time before we knew if baby was a boy or girl we talked girl names and could NEVER agree on one. He didn't like the ones I liked and he had no clue what he even liked.

Good thing we had a baby boy! lol

This, we had both names picked out before the gender u/s.

The only thing that might make girl names harder is that there are so many pretty options, and its hard to pick one that you and your SO agree on sometimes.

But boy names are still harder, I think, because there's fewer options and more concerns.

Also, its hard to pick an uncommon name that isn't too unique for a boy. And with boys having a name that's too uncommon really affects their success in life (more so than with girls.. though girls can have issues with that too if their names are too out there) but at the same time, you don't want a plain name or a name that everyone else has.

Neither were hard for me. We picked the names before finding out the sex with both pregnancies.

Naming our son was definitely harder. We had Brooklyn's name picked out from the very beginning, with Irelynn we tossed around a couple different names but we settled on Irelynn Grace before 20 weeks even. But with our son we didn't settle on Conlan till less than a month before he was born

I'd also like to add, neither was really harder than the other, it was my husband who had to go and make things hard for hating my names.... LOL.

I've had a girl named picked out from before I even got pregnant lol, but I just cant seem to find a boys name that I really love, it's either too common or I just dont like it.

I find the sex out in 4days.
