If you had a friend/relative who smoked during pregnancy and you smoked as well, would you smoke (anything) around her?

If you choose to read it, this is what inspired my question:

My sister used to be a pack a day smoker and since finding out she was pregnant she now smokes 3-5 a day. The other day she was at my mom's house and my mom started smoking a bowl in front of her. My sister got pissed and my mom said, "If you don't care about smoking around the baby, why should I?" So what do you guys think about just smoking around pregnant people in general, regardless of what it is?

Uh, well if she's smoking herself, I'm not going to abstain.

Because it's YOUR baby, dumbass.

First of all she sounds really immature. She can get up and walk away but no I wouldn't smoke around her.

I think if they don't care so be it, But I out of respect wouldn't smoke around a pregnant person. I am pregnant myself and when in the car with 4 other people they wanted to smoke pot and one person said no not with her in here. So they didn't.

That's what my mom said to my sister. She's asking why she should not smoke around my sister when my sister smokes anyways.

If I was a smoker, I wouldn't smoke around anyone who was pregnant, even if they were a smoker themselves. If they wanna put their baby in danger, fine, but I'm not gonna add to it.

i wouldnt smoke around her... i know when i was pregnant with DS i had quit smoking but seeing someone smoke would make me want one and it make it hard... its been 4 years and i still want one when i see someone smoking... it can be on tv or walking down the street or even in the car passing me... if i see it i want one.... so its hard... so i would try to not smoke around her so maybe she will be less tempted to smoke

I totally agree with her.

I've only ever smoked around a pregnant person if we were outside, like at a bbq. But as soon as I found out I was pregnant, I quit smoking (again. I smoked since I was 16, quit when I was pregnant with DD, started up again after I quit breast feeding, I was 21, now I'm 24)...

My two neighbors still smoke around me, and one of them is pregnant.. But I don't mind because we are always outside, and if I did mind I could always walk away.

Can't stand the smell when I'm pregnant, so I excuse myself. I usually have LO with me, so I excuse myself. I think it's rude to smoke around anyone without knowing how they feel about it first.

I dont understand how she can say that because her baby is still in her womb. I personally dont think that second hand smoke would hurt the baby in the womb but if the baby was born then yes second hand smoke wouldnt be ok.
