Would you VBAC?
posted 14th May
If you were a good candidate for a VBAC, would you do it? Knowing all the complicatins that could happen but hopefully would't.
Just wanting some input, I found out that I might be able to have one, but after reading all the cons, it scares the crap out of me. On the other hand, having another section would be horrible, given my last experience with to much meds, not knowing if I was breathing, numb for hours, sick, and feeling like I was being ripped apart by the stitches for about two weeks, scares me about the same.....

The question is Would I...um...I don't think so. But I'm not even a c-section-er and I'm not preggo. Sounds scary. Good luck with however it turns out!!!!!

I like the idea of being able to do VBAC, but I'm undecided right now. I really need to research it some more.

I had a bad experience with my c-section too. I would consider VBAC. I havent looked into all the possible complications though and having another child is no where near in my mind at this point as I still remember the pain frommy c-section and I NEVER want to go through that again, lol.

I am going to try for one. There are risks with either of them. I just think the recovery of a vaginal is much better.

I wanted to and had planned to with my last one, but I started having killer BH at 28 weeks and just couldn't do it anymore. I know, I'm a baby...but I was working 35+ hours a week and just gave in in a moment of weakness. I wish I could try it again with the VBAC because I really don't want another c section, but I don't think they would let me since I've had 2 previous c sections. If thats what you choose to do then the best of luck to you!

I didn't want to have a VBAC, too risky for me. I had 3 c-sections and i'm glad I did. Pain afterwards was never bad for me, I guess I was one of the lucky ones.

Hey there, I am currently in this situation. I had twins a little over two years ago c-section (after 2 days of labor then my daughter "baby b" flipped and went breach...) but I am currently almost 14 weeks pregnant and I have been trying to do research on the VBAC. My Dr. said it would be my decision but he isn't recommending it. Where have you researched about it. I would love to get some more info. Any advice would be great.

Babycenter.com has a pretty decent article on it, besides that I've been googling so much, tend to keep away from the more biased places, just want facts
WebMD and Mayoclinic also

i am so envious of people who got to do it vaginally. i felt like i missed everything because i woke up 2 hours later! anyway i would consider it IF i was pregnant a couple years from now. I'm scared of uterine rupture.

I think vbac would be my way to go! i ve never hac a section but i would deffenitely mention it to the dr just because if someone could carry a child up to nine more months after having a section and the uterus hasnt ruptured why not go vaginal. but then again i havent expierenced a section. but i give props to all the mommas that do! I cant imagine the pain afterwords!

i think its the contractions that make the uterus rupture.... because of it tightening over and over.

my sister had vbac with her 2nd and she did really well! the only reason she had a section was because she had a cerlage put in at 6m with her twins and they thought they removed the sutures and when she went to deliver there was a big suture blocking the twins from delivery! I didnt think about all the contractions and thats probably a big factor but believe it or not it can happen to anybody with or without a section.(rupture)

I am trying VBAC this time. This is my 3rd baby and my Dr. has over 30 years of experience. He said that he has NEVER had a uterine rupture in a VBAC. The key is not to get any pit or other contraction enhancing medicine which creates a more intense and unatural contractions. Your chances for having problems are no greater than having major surgery (c-section). My Dr. said the only reason they were having any ruptures in the past was because of the use of the drugs that created too intense of a contraction on the uturus. (which is really not good for anyone) Research, research, research! That is what I am doing.
