I don't know what her deal is lately. She's literally sitting next to me screaming because I won't let her in my lap. Siiiiigh.

I don't know if this has any bearing on her situation at all guys but... if your child screams to be in your lap every time you sit down, for instance, wouldn't it become battle ground for you?

I've been holding her all day. I just think it's crazy that she's throwing this big of a deal when she's literally sitting right next to me.

I know exactly how you feel. Of course you want to hold em and all, but sometimes you need to freakin breathe. Any other way to comfort her? How old is she?

Sorry I'm not much help. I can understand how it would be frustrating, but in my family if the child screams, the child gets. I don't know another model but I'm sure gonna research the hell out of it before my due date, ha. Kids just want... regardless of rhyme or reason sometimes (:

She's 9mo. She just recently recovered from an abscessed tooth a few days ago, and she's freaking out over everything. She had a few sleepless nights from the pain and now she's scared of her bottle and of being more than 4 inches away from me. I want to comfort her but I'm not going to let her think the world is horrible and the only way to deal with problems is to scream at them and run for momma's lap.

Yes, but infants are capable of building habits. She's sitting next to me, leaning on me. I'm talking to her. There's literally nothing wrong with her, and there's nothing wrong with me wanting my space after dealing with this all day.

An abscessed tooth! At 9 months?? That poor thing needs comfort and support! How awful. I need cuddles when I recover from mine, and I'm an adult. I can't even imagine how horrible it would be for her.
And we're mom... Of course they're going to run to use with their problems. Especially if they hurt!

She's 9 months old! The only habit she'll be forming is 'my mom is always there for me'... It's a little early to teach her to be independent. Don't you think?
