Ethan is 1 year and he doesnt say any words, just mama and dada. The doctor asked me if he was saying words like ball, or dog, but he just babbles, no real words. How old were you kids when they starting saying words? I'm always worrying that Ethan is behind. He's also not walking yet but I'm pretty sure he will be soon because he walks holding on to everything.

My daughter was saying a few words at her 1 yr well baby.

My son has only said mama.

I would say at the next check up ask the pedi again. See what they say. Cuase my son was slow to speak and he was 2 before we figured it out. Andhe is really behind because of it.ANd its normal for him to not be walking yet all my kids were over 1 before they started walking completely.

My best friends son is 2 and hes only just started talking,you can really understand him now.

Orion began parroting our speech at 8 months. He's 9 months now and says "blue" "ball" "bubba" and ya know, mama dada baba. those things.
A lot of still babble, but he's getting really good. Oh! and he's saying "Nana" now too because my mom has pushed it on him so much.
Every baby is different. my friends baby is a year and doesnt really say much either
