Hair Dye While Pregnant

No, this isn't your typical "can I do it?" thread  
I've read in a lot of places that you can often get a totally different colour than you expected when dying your hair during pregnancy. Is it totally different as in, the colour tends to come out darker? Or totally different as in, you dye your hair dark brown and it comes out the complete wrong shade?

I badly want to go back to black, I HATE my natural hair colour. But I'm kind of scared that it's gonna wind up coming out funky because I'm pregnant.

Mine never came out a weird color. You can never really go wrong with black but try to do the 28 wash one because once you try to dye it something else its a bitch to get rid of the black.

I've dyed my hair twice while being pregnant. The first time I tried to go for a lighter color and that came out not at all like it was suppose to. So I just left it until after I had the baby to fix it. With this pregnancy I dyed my hair a very dark brown, almost black and it came out perfect!

I love dying my hair black I had SO dye my hair for me threw my whole pregnancy! It always came out right my roots would always come in really fast.

I just dyed mine 2 days ago and it came out the right color.

So it is safe to dye your hair while pregnant? My hair is two toned right now because I'm too scared to recolor! Does baby get any chemicals from the dye?

Yes it is safe.
Just be in a well ventilated place.
I always had SO do it outside.

how far should you be before dying your hair? im 18 weeks and in need of a coloring lol

It does not mattter who far along.
Just stay in a well ventilated place and you will be fine.

I think maybe it depends on your body chemistry and can be different for everyone. I have two toned hair (Blonde on top and brown underneath) and when I went to re-dye the brown part recently, I got black. So for me it went darker...which obviously wouldn't be an issue for you with black, lol...but I couldn't tell you for sure.

LOL, and you didn't ask the "can I do it?" question, go figure other people used your thread to ask it anyway...haha.
