How long before...?

When you start a relationship with someone new, how long was it before you introduced you child/children to said person? I think it should be when the relationship has been serious for over 6 months. So a year maybe. What do you think?

I met my stepchildren after our second date. I've been here ever since.  

Idk, I'm agonizing over this (nobody in the picture, I just get anxious about everything!).

I was thinking lightly introduce (like, as I'm leaving, "Z this is ___, ___ this is my daughter, Z - okay, hon, love you, see you in a couple hours!") right away but nothing for more than a few minutes until we're serious and we've been together for a long while... At least 4 months, but probably more.

I would say 3 - 4 months.. Only because I am a single mom. If his dad gets divorced from his wife, I would kindly suggest him to wait a little bit longer since he barely sees his child [I know double standard but oh well.]

I totally get that though. I was thinking the same thing. Unless BD is dating someone who I really like. But yeah I really REALLY want my new bf to meet my son because I love my son so much and i love showing him to people :] but I think waiting will be the best for my son in the long run.

Id say that too because you dont want your son to meet a hole smurf load of men.. I am guilty of doing that when my son was younger.. now I realize that I cant do that because he is 5 now.. and he deserves more than that. lol.

Yeah luckily my son is only 9 months, so if I really wanted to I could do that. But I think it's not a good idea.

yeah you still have time before he remembers. Luckily my son doesnt remember the 5 -6 guys I brought around him.. yes I know HORRIBLE. I cringe at the thought at how horrilbe of a parent I was.. lol.

It's a learning process. We still learn, just as much as our children do. The important part is that we continue to grow :] I feel the same way, some things I did I cringe at as a parent.
