She's starting kindergarten in a month? A 3 1/2 year old should know letters, number, colors, shapes, letter sounds.. How to cut, color without scribbling, trace letters and etc, hold a pencil correctly.. stuff like that.

Can you kindly tell me what your child can do in relations to school knowledge. Please be honest. Thanks!"</blockquote>
My daughter will be four in September and she knows her abc's and what sound each letter makes. She can count from 1-100. Knows all her shapes and colors and is starting to learn how to read very basic books.

Forgot to mention... she should atleast count to 20.. 31 by kindergarten. And one-to-one correspondence (counting objects 1 at a time).

My son is 4 but since 3 can do ABCs, Colors, Shapes, Count English and Spanish to 20...in English he can go a little further lol. He can spell his name and knows how to identify everything above. When he was almost 4 we started math and hes getting the hang of it. He can also tell you what colors mixed together form different colors, knows president of the USA lol. Im a SAHM so we work on it throughout the day.

I babysit a 4 year old who went to montesorri and young 3's and seriously doesn't know smurf. His Mom never takes the time to do anything with him. He can count to maybe 20 and vaguely knows his alphabet. He stills uses a sippy and need his butt wiped

My daughter had just started working on knowing the sounds of each letter. She could count to 20 (she HATES counting) and knew her colors/shapes/letters/etc. We were also working on tracing our letters.

When did she start kindergarten though? Don't you guys start at like 5?

He could write his name (Joey, not Joseph), could count to at least 20, except at that age he always skipped the number 13
He knew all of his colors, even maroon, navy blue, weird ones that I didn't know at that age
He knew his shapes, uh...IDK what else

Start a thread and find out.
OP, I can't be much help, but I would assume reciting the alphabet, counting to 20, knowing her own name on sight, and shapes/colors would be enough.
Don't they give you a list of what they recommend the child know before starting school?
