Ladies I need your opinion!

I really dont need any judging or anyone telling me what I should or shouldnt do, I just want to know how others feel about the situation that I am in. My son's dad is in jail he will get out in November but I can have Joey at any moment now. I was wondering if you all would take your child so that the dad can see them when they are at least a month or two?

no, I wouldn't take my child to a jail at any age.

I worked at a daycare and these children were in foster care because both parents were in jail and CPS would take them to visit. I always thought that was terrible. I would never want my kid in a jail. I understand why you would want the father to see the baby, but I don't think that is an appropriate place to bring them. Send or bring photos until he gets out. He was stupid enough to land himself in there while you were pregnant, now he should have to wait till hes out.

I think it would really depend on why he's in there in the first place. If it were for something violent, I dont know if I would ever want him to see him. And I dont know what kind of jails those women are thinking of, but usually, they're kept behind glass. She never said that she was going to let the LO crawl around all over the floor. lmao I think they're thinking of prison when you get to sit down with them at a table. lol
But really, if you feel that he deserves to see him then sure, go ahead and take him.

Nope. My mom has been in and out of jail my whole life and I have yet to ever step foot in the jail to visit her or anything. I don't wanna be around it personally, so I wouldn't bring my baby into it either. I mean, if it was some long term thing or whatever, I could see bringing the kid to meet their father when it was a little bigger, but since he gets out in November then I wouldn't even bother. He can meet the baby when he gets out.

Personally, I would take my child to jail. If he is getting out in November, he can wait to see his child.

I would get him vaccinated first, also depending on how long he will be in prison. If its only for a few months, id wait it out til he got home if its years, itd take my child to see him at least once. People make mistakes, doesnt mean they should be deprived of seeing their children. I have been there and i took my son to see him a few times and i didnt feel like a bad mother bc of it.

Oh i misread where you said he gets out in November. You need the birth certificate and social security cared to bring a child into a prison. By the time you receive all that itll be almost time for him to get out anyway. Id just wait it out and send him pictures. GL with whatever you decide.

I also believe it depends on his offense, when he committed it, and how close you two are. My daughter's father was in jail when she was 6 months old for a DWI he got a while before she was born (his sentence was placed far out in advance). So I took her to see him because we live together and she missed him very much.

for health reasons as well as to avoid the extensive search some jails do when babies visit, i say wait til he gets out, it would also be a more comfortable environment w/o the CO cutting a visit short...
